Jay Leno Visits George W. Bush on His Texas Ranch

Jay Leno is kicking off the third season of his hit CNBC show in arguably the most Texas way possible – on the ranch of former President George W. Bush.

Leno recently went to visit Bush in Crawford and the pair drove around in the former Commander-In-Chief’s trusty 2013 Ford F-150 King Ranch edition pickup to talk about life in McLennan County.

Bush auctioned off his old 2009 truck for charity in January, raising $300,000. It was even autographed inside.

During his visit Leno helped Bush uproot a tree on his 90-acre tree farm and stack some compost bags. Leno also found out that former First Lady Laura Bush calls her hubby “Bushy” around the house.

“Once elected, presidents, vice-presidents and first ladies are no longer allowed to drive on public roads, even after they leave office.”

Well - I guess that ends it for me wanting to be president. I’m guessing that Trump hasn’t driven himself too much in many years? On one hand it makes sense to have a driver in order to make phone calls, conduct business, etc. But I couldn’t see not driving for any length of time.

I wonder why they are wearing seat belts if they are just cruising around the farm.

So the idiotic warning buzzer, now tied into the computer, doesn't go off. I bought a couple of short seat belt extenders for my 2014 Ram.....problem solved

Jay is a very interesting guy. I met a medical surgeon who is close friends with Leno, and he shared with me how grounded and trustworthy Jay Leno really is.

If I’m not mistaken. Former presidents can opt out is SS protection program.

As for me.... ‘I drive, therefore I am’. “Motivatus ergo sum” (see chuck Berry’s Maybeline)

With reminders about how George W. Bush was a wimp and let the Democrats demonize him it is only typical W. to befriend someone like Leno who was nasty as could be to W in his ‘comedy’. I remember how personal it was and cocaine comments, etc. he made. Used to like Leno before that.

Did you ever watch him during the Dubya years? That changed my mind on him. He got personal. They hide behind comedy yet never would dare attack Dems like that.

I happen to think it was a cute segment. *Bushy* & Jay can’t be disparaged for their patriotism, especially on a holiday like this.

MAGA. Made in America. Go trucks.

"...his 90-acre tree farm..."

A smallish place, by Texas standards.

It’s all a school play.

I reacted the same as you back then. Then, W. did nothing to help the border agents, and I scratched my head. 8 years of Obama tearing down our country, and not a peep out of W. Then we hear the Bushes boasting about Bill Clinton being another son. Then we see W. dancing and singing like a lunatic, swinging Michelle Obama’s arm at a memorial service for police officers murdered because of Obama’s incessant verbal attacks on offices.

Yeah, nothing is as it appears. It’s all a school play.

I believe that is just the tree farm part of the ranch.

The total size of the ranch is 1500+ acres.

Still small for Texas

1. Maybe out of habit

2. Maybe they don't want to hear the ping, ping, ping of the the stupid seat belt alarm.......
