Alaska's Bogoslof Volcano erupted Sunday, sending a plume of ash at least 35,000 feet into the air and temporarily triggering the highest aviation alert, scientists say.

The Bogoslof Volcano in the Aleutian Islands erupted at 2:16 p.m. Sunday, according to the Alaska Volcano Observatory. The eruption lasted 55 minutes.

No further ash emissions have occurred at Bogoslof Volcano since the explosion, and seismic activity remains low, according to the observatory.

Nature in 55 minutes underscored just how silly are the Paris accords. Huge amounts pollutants and carbon gases were just released into the atmosphere. More than all the poverty inducing regulations, if they were enforced, would prevent in a decade.

I check them daily. Living in California, it is interesting to learn that other parts of the world are more prone to quakes than CA.

That should throw the global warming folks off their tired arguments or science as they call it.

Probably the most notable volcanic aviation incident happened to an Australian 747 that flew threw a newly created PI (Philippines) ash cloud one night.

Choked all four engines. Can’t remember how far the plane descended before the crew got the engines started again.

Then again, during WWII, Mt. Vesuvius erupted, damaging/destroying a 100 or so USAAF aircraft on the ground.

Being that this happened yesterday, it couldn't have been that catastrophic.

And it didn't even make the Drudge page! Drudge lives for this stuff. If it's earthquake, volcanic or tsunami-related, Drudge is usually flashing sirens with 72-point red headlines.

Better lots of little ones than wait for a big one like the 9.4 Whittier quake in 1964

It’s the ring of fire. Earthquakes are like sunrises.

Bet that will put a damper on the global warming numbers

We need some scientists who have studied the totality of life on earth. As I understand it, everything is in a constant cycle of birth, death and renewal. To include changes from solid to gas and liquid and back to solids over and over again. Cycled by plants and animals eating, urinating etc., Even rocks get renewed by wearing down into sand, combining with other materials, acids and back into solid forms.

Of course, I could be wrong;)

I believe you mean the 1964 Prince William Sound earthquake in Alaska.

There was a Whittier, CA, quake in 1987. I didn’t live that far away at the time. I believe it was 6.4 and did a fair amount of damage.

I wonder if the EPA nerds will be issuing a heavy fine/penalty to the mountain?
Perhaps they can get a cease & desist order issued to it from one of the commie, black-robed tyrants out of the 9th Circus. /s

I felt that 1987 Whittier quake in Santa Barbara.

I had just gotten off the phone in my bedroom with a business associate in London and I felt the desk moving.

I walked into the hallway and a big lighting fixture on a chain over the stairs was swaying.

Dumb broad ... the Russians are blowing up their own volcano, it was named after a Russian. Their purpose is to destroy the sea lions there (its a sanctuary) and make PITA angry at Trump.
