Margaret Atwood, who authored the award-winning novel The Handmaid's Tale in 1985, has spoken out to say that the US is growing ever closer to the once-unimaginable dystopian society portrayed in her book.
The 77-year-old Canadian author is gearing up for the debut of a new on-screen adaption of her novel, which is set to air on Hulu next month and stars Mad Men's Elizabeth Moss.
In anticipation of the mini-series, Atwood — who has won the Booker Prize, a Los Angeles Times Fiction Award, and Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal — participated in a new Q&A on Reddit, in which she discussed the renewed relevancy of her most famous work of fiction.

When I saw the ads for the new Netflix “Handmaiden’s Tale”, all I could think was “That’s Boko Haram with color coded burqas ...” and that’s what liberal secularists are unable to condemn.
