WOW applying on line !!!No wonder illegals get theirs in CA if it is that easy.
What a screwed up state CA is.
Happened to me. I had to prove who I was with a birth certificate because my driver’s license did not have the new secure ID thingamajigger symbol on it.
What I wonder is, if all the states are doing this, how the heck to illegals get licenses in California without U.S. birth certificates? Do foreign birth certificates count there? How safe can that be?
Our DMV here in FL is great, and we hardly have ever had to wait. Sounds like your DMV where you lived in your state is awful.
Thanks...that’s the website.. I wasn’t sure if you could see the requirements if you didn’t live in Florida, so I cut and pasted them
Just been told that in CA you get them on line. CA is nuts to do that, but then again CA is always out there making it easier for illegals and others anyway.
The wait all depends on which office you use. We have 2 offices, one more crowded than the other. My husband’s plan is to arrive before it opens, and be near the front of the line....that might be everybody else’s plan too :)
Thank you you reminded me cause I am moving back in the spring and left all this off my check list.
I have my Drv record from 67 to 2002 in Broward but I suppose that doesn’t prove who I am so I better have all this ready
Sounds like they have moved to Real ID
>>In Florida, when we vote we have to show 2 IDs, voter registration, and photo ID, drivers license, etc.

I live in FL, and only have to show my driver’s license in order to vote. Perhaps the additional requirements are county-specific?
Real ID. Qualifying driver’s licenses can be used to board planes, get government services, etc. If you don’t have one, you’ll need at least a passport card when the friendly federal agent says, “Ihre Unterlagen, bitte”

Today, 50+ years later, I'd support just about any ID requirements and pre-paid annual insurance for a license, plus 12 months rent receipts for voting, and Salvation Army recommendation for welfare enrolment.

Tell the DMV your name is Maria Sanchez and you’re here illegally.
Should have gone to Mexico , then walked across the border and into a California DMV.
That’s easy and they sign you up to vote as well.
He took my photo and in a few minutes I had my new license.”
We renew on-line in Texas as long as nothing has changed. Just requires a credit card to pay. Pic on mine is at least 20 years old - and I like it that way.
Trying to help my grandson get a learner’s permit was a huge hassle, took forever and cost an arm and a leg. Liked it much better when they offered driver’s ed in school in Kansas when my kids got their license. Way easier - but Texas seems to like to nickel and dime you to death.
Me too in Pinellas County - just have to show my driver’s license to vote.
My sister lives in Upstate New York and she tries to show her driver’s license when it is time to vote and the poll people actually yell at her to put her identification away. They refuse to look at it.
The reason they did that was to combat vote fraud... libs cried for weeks
You must have provided all that stuff at some point in a previous renewal or are too old for them to care...
I made an appt online for mine in Delray Beach and just waited the 3 months for it. Used passport (don’t have a birth cert). Used deed for proof of addr, and tax papers for proof of SS# (dont’t have ss card). Couldn’t read even 1st line of eye chart but passed anyway.

I also like the way Texas does their voter registration cards. You get a new one every
two years and the old one is now void. It comes automatically via mail but is non-forwardable.
Thus if isn’t delivered to your mail box then it is returned to the voter registrars office
to remove you voter registration.
