Detroit losing to Green Bay last night is their first break in the playoffs. As a result they will play in Seattle against the Seahawks, rather than face the Giants.

I think they have about even odds of pulling off a win over Seattle, who has looked pretty trashed in the last few games and have the weakest division and worst record of anyone in the NFC playoffs.

I stand corrected, yes Seattle's record is a little better than Detroit and Green Bay, but thy were in a pathetically weak division.

TOTAL WINS BY DIVISION:

NFC East: 39
NFC North: 30
NFC South: 33
NFC West: 23 -- Seattle w/ 10 of them!

AFC East: 36
AFC North: 26
AFC South: 29
AFC West: 38

The Giants played a lot better teams to get their 11=5 wildcard slot than Seattle did to get their Division win. So, I still believe the Lions got the better draw from last night result, despite losing.

The bookies don't agree with me though:

They have Green Bay a 4 point favorite over the Giants and Seattle a 7 point favorite over Detroit.
