Thief Steals a Galaxy Note 7 and Immediately Regrets It

Despite initiating a worldwide recall of the Galaxy Note 7, some users continue to carry the ticking time bomb with them, even though in some regions, they can easily replace that phablet with a Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge. However, in extremely rare cases, carrying a volatile smartphone is a blessing in disguise, and a thief had the misfortune of stealing that particular handset, which will probably force him to pursue a new hobby down the line.

Thief Swipes Galaxy Note 7 While Its Owner Is Napping in a Café – Probably Regrets It Immediately Afterward

One thief saw a golden opportunity in a Café located in Hefei, which happens to be the provincial capital, where the owner of the Galaxy Note 7 was dozing off, prompting the thief to make his move. It appears that the thief might not have been dexterous when it comes to telling which smartphone he might have slipped into his pocket, because according to the China Times, the Galaxy Note 7 exploded shortly after he made his getaway.

While the incident would have definitely given the individual a valuable lesson not to take what does not belong to him, it also highlights a bigger problem, and theft is not one of them. It shows that despite the numerous warnings from carriers and Samsung concerning the Galaxy Note 7 and its explosive nature, consumers are still opting to keep it as their daily driver. It is possible that some users do not have the disposable income to purchase a replacement handset since they invested a great deal on this phablet, but it still shows that consumers are actually waiting for an accident to take place before they will be enlightened on the subject.

Immediate Karma for stealing? Usually the punishment for theft is a bit more delayed than this. . .

On the other hand, the thief may have save the phone's owner from serious burns and other possible injuries. He's a hero for volunteering to take on those dangers for the owner!

Ping for another Samsung Galaxy Note 7 burning a hole in someone’s pocket. . . this time a thief who stole one and immediately found out a new meaning for having a “hot phone!”

Wouldn’t it be great if you could cause your phone to self-destruct if it were stolen? Liability aside, it would be a hoot. I can see the App now: “Immolate”—protects your phone and your data.

There’s a video of a guy that wired a phone to give off electric shocks. In fact, I think the same guy made four or five videos. I can’t remember what he called them. I watched them all, though; they were hilarious. That phone packed quite a jolt. The various thieves couldn’t throw it down fast enough. (The best video is where a guy slipped the stolen phone into his pocket. He was in pain, trying to dig it out and toss it.)

It would sell well in the Muslim world. . . automatic hand removal for thieves who steal it.

Do we yet have any idea what is causing the problems? Is it really the battery...or the charging system, or something else?
