Plotts have a reputation for not being the prettiest of dogs, but I’ve seen a few that were. Sort of liver colored, with darker brindle.
I have an American bulldog who thinks he can swim like a labrador and scent like a bloodhound. A squirrel ran right in front of him on our walk today, and I think he has eyes like Mr. Magoo. I was involved in a court case involving a Walker and was surprised at how many thousands he was worth
Yeah...Mostly a dark brindle, but there was once a light colored dog out of White Hollow Kennel owned by Gene White that was the damndest good bear dog I ever saw..Her name was Blondie...Blondie once won first place in the treeing and first place in the bear fight contests at the national Plott Hound Association’s National Trials...
This was in the 70’s...Gene was offered $5,000 dollars for Blondie but would sell..
Later that year, a bear killed Blondie outside of Haliburton, Ontario...

Anyone recall the three Canadian teenage boys, CAF dependents who

An NYC Jewish family was at a cabin in upstate New York and a black bear

I spoke to Joe Painter at length about getting a GAB in the late ‘80s. Never pulled the trigger.
Got bit by one years later on a trail. Pulled back quickly enough to keep the damage to a minimum. Didn’t file charges.
Was in 2A-restrictive CA, so I wasn’t packing. Shoulda been anyway.

Agree. I don’t see a lot of sport in that. May as well put it in a pen and tie it down and shoot it. A 3 year old kid could have made that shot.
