A 31-year-old man found himself running from bullets after a mother found him in her 16-year-old daughter’s bedroom, police say.
Valerie Fowler, of Paoli, Okla., shot Brandon Vail twice after she found him and her daughter kissing, according to an affidavit. Vail survived and was taken to a hospital by helicopter, while Fowler was arrested on charges of assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
The teen, who was identified in the affidavit as K.P., told police that her boyfriend had been coming over three times a week after her mother left for work at 5:30 a.m.
But on Monday morning, Fowler kicked in the locked bedroom door and fired a shot at Vail as he tried to get out of bed, according to the affidavit. Vail ran toward the hallway, while Fowler fired a second shot at him.
Michael Lewis, police chief for Paoli, about 50 miles southeast of Oklahoma City, was called about 7:20 a.m. to a nearby trailer home, where he found Vail lying on the front porch, according to the affidavit.
Investigators found bloodstains on the bed and sheets, as well as on the walls and floors of Fowler’s house. They also found a handgun.
Lewis told NBC affiliate KFOR that the 16-year-old girl and a young child witnessed the shooting. Lewis was not immediately available for comment Tuesday.

Oh, but she did. I hope there are other laws in OK that help the mom. In the mean time, I think that 31 perv won’t do that again (age of consent met or not, he’s a perv). And I think missy may have learned a lesson as well.

Not just in bedroom but also in bed! 15 years difference and she claims he is boyfriend visiting 3 times a week? Also, how about the young person who also viewed the incident? A prior love child? Mother’s or daughter’s? Right now I’m voting for Mom!
She's facing substantial criminal charges, she might get a plea deal, not to mention she's going to be responsible for some hefty medical bills.
It might inspire some legislators to raise the age of consent, but it won't help her.

Sure she will. Right after you get 12 Oklahoman adults to agree that finding a 31 year old man in your 16 year old daughter’s bed at 0530am is just fine. Good luck with that. She’s more likely to have a BBQ throw in her honor.
