Dion Leonard was ready to run 155 miles across four deserts in China for seven days. He wasnt ready for a puppy companion to join him along the way.
The stray puppy, who has since been named Gobi, was nearby when the 2016 Gobi March 4 Deserts race started off on June 19. She decided to join in and lasted the full 22 miles of the first day, and Leonard said he noticed her hanging around the runners camp.
On day two, I was at the start line for the race stage and she was standing next to me looking up at me, Leonard told The Dodo. I thought to myself this little dog isnt going to last very long at my side as we raced off, but she ended up running the whole day and 23 miles distance.

Many large dogs I have run into did not even need to be introduced, They run right up to me right away. And this includes so-called vicious breeds. In fact the so called vicious breeds sometimes try to drown me with slobber.
Nice story! Thanks for maintaining my favorite ping list, Joe 6-pack.

Just now read your post. We have one breeder dog and one rescue. I completely agree with your rescue comments. Once we had a trainer at the house. When he was leaving he said, “If there is ever an intruder, your breeder dog will bark and maybe bite. The rescue will kill for you.”
