It turns out Gary Larsen might have it backwards on the effects of smoke on evolution:

I was reading recently that people reenacting life in the Celtic era (pre-Christ) were bothered by smoke from fires in their tents, but they got used to it and scholars figured the ancients did, too.

Smoke from my BBQ grill gives me a severe headache, so I don’t grill any more. I miss it.

I was told last year at the Daniel Boone Homestead that the reason beds were so short back then was because people propped themselves up to be able to breathe more easily. They needed this due to a lifetime of breathing smoke from wood fires.

That’s the first thing that I thought about.

Damn, I miss Larsen’s comics - the man was a genius. Maybe he’s come up with some new material after all of these years? Maybe he can make a movie? C’mon, Gary, we’re starved for your talent.

Are you married? Do you have children old enough to tend it? There are alternatives. I have a 16 year old boy and a 17 year old girl at home and they love to do it. Not so much on cleaning up the mess though.

My ancestors came from a place where you had fire inside and a hole in the roof to let the smoke out.
but the skies were almost always cloudy...
So cigarettes don't seem to bother my kin, but the skin cancer does quite a few in....

You’re certainly welcome to come, long trip from Texas to Central Illinois, very “red” section of the state but be aware, Illinois recognizes NO other state’s concealed or open carry laws.

(Not my fault)

Illinois recognizes NO other state’s concealed or open carry laws.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

BUT IL says I can have my concealed, loaded handgun in my vehicle as long as I am licensed in my state.

When exiting vehicle, it must be locked with weapon locked up.

However - metal detectors excluded - I firmly believe that it is called concealed for a reason and being a believer in better be judged by 12 than carried by 6 —— UNLESS, of course there are some sensible judges - ala Baltimore that will follow the LAW etc, not hold grudges and have political aspirations.

Above data obtained from my 2016 edition of ‘Travelers Guide to the Fireare Laws of the Fifty States’

However they do recommend one check for themselves.
A lawyer wrote & researched it so ‘naturally’, the ‘this isn’t legally binding etc’ is on page 1....<: <: <:
