Donald Trump has announced he will meet with the NRA to discuss if people on the terrorist watch list or the no-fly list should be allowed to purchase guns, according to WIRED.

The NRA’s executive director for its Institute for Legislative Action, Chris W. Cox, said the NRA has a strong opinion on this, according to CNN.

“The NRA’s position on this issue has not changed,” Cox said. “The NRA believes that terrorists should not be allowed to purchase or possess firearms, period. Anyone on a terror watchlist who tries to buy a gun should be thoroughly investigated by the FBI and the sale delayed while the investigation is ongoing.”

Seems to me the state can’t even get profiling and border security right, which seem pretty common sense to me. Lets see them act like they really care about the safety of citizens for a while before we let them use lists, in my opinion.

Who's on the "Terror Watch List"? Who put them on the list? Why? What objective criteria exist for putting people on the list? Where did they come from? How did they get here? Are they even the people the list-keepers think they are? How does someone wrongly on the list get off the list?

How about everyone gets concealed carry permits reciprocated by every state, and do away with “gun free zones” instead?

“Try to remember that next time “

I could care less about prior Canadian candidates. This site is concerned with the American one running. Try to remember that.

So, you believe that the government should be able to create secret lists of people who are denied their fundamental, God-given, Constitution protected human right to self defense?

Pound sand.

If Trump is favoring this idiotic secret “No Guns” list, he’s dead wrong. Deal with it.

Oh, we all know who they consider to be the biggest threat and we know that abuse of power is the norm for the Democrat party e.g. Lois Lerner and the IRS so we can all see where this is going. If there is going to be any peaceful agreement here, there will have to be infallible safeguards that ensure Law abiding citizens are not deprived of their rights by faceless bureaucrats without due process and without a means of redress. We can talk and we can see how close or how far apart we are. We should give nothing without receiving something of equal value however.

No, you are the one having trouble dealing with it. Trump always has a motive behind these things and you suckers constantly get dragged into it.

Honestly, I’m confused as to why a new law is needed to implement this. If a background check is requested by someone on a terror watchlist, just put the request on hold and go investigate the person. FBI/ATF start with fresh location information.

The left won’t settle for that. They want instant and permanent ban on anyone on “the list.” A gun ban in effect. All they have to do is redefine “terrorist.”

We’ve now entered into the “If you want your gun, you can keep your gun” part of the debate.

So, you believe that the government should be able to deprive citizens of their civil rights by the simple expedient of putting them on a list?

We used to have trials for that, "jury of your peers," remember? Now we just have a list. It's a secret list, and once you're on it, there's no appeal. Sound a bit like "1984" or Nazi Germany? It should, because it is.

Number one item: National right to concealed carry. How can state and local entities circumscribe the U.S. Constitutionally protected right to bear arms?

I don’t think that preventing people on terrorist watch lists from buying guns will save one single American. This is political BS that will not even come close to solving the real problem. It’s pure political BS.

Well, there's this:

DETROIT, MI - The Detroit suburb of Dearborn, with a population of 96,000 people, has more residents on the federal government's terrorist watch list than any city in the United States other than New York, according to a report released Tuesday. ...

The Intercept reports Dearborn's large Muslim population likely accounts for the city's high number of residents on the terrorist watch list. The Top 5 cities on the list, according to the leaked documents, include:

1. New York City
2. Dearborn
3. Houston
4. San Diego
5. Chicago

(mlive.com/news/detroit)

Actually I want them watching every damn moslem and mosk in the US.

Typical government. So focused on laws but they forget one law all the time - the law of unintended consequences.

Can you answer these questions? Can The Donald(tm) answer these questions?

NO, you can't. The only people who can, refuse to do so.

Are you willing to go along with Barack Hussein 0bama, Hillary Clinton, Dianne Feinstein, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and Jeh Johnson in creating a secret "no self defense" list?

A muslim refugee from Syria is not entitled to second amendment rights or due process. I have no problem with putting them all on the ban list.

The Supreme Court will get this episode in roughly two years, and the lack of a open due process will fail the law....Trump knows this....so do the Republican Senators. So, it’s a marginal act for the public and the news media....which makes everyone feel thrilled....until next week when the next Islamic dude does his act, and you find out that he got his gun via some Latino drug cartel gang.
