And here it is in the Washington Post — maybe easier for some people to follow:

But they don’t know what state the pair of cats is in, until they sic Schrodinger’s dog on one of them and then the jig is up for both cats.

And a reminder that the universe is a construct that is very complex

Dunno, but I'm stealing the GIF:

Schrodinger hated the thing, actually. And I've always wondered - if it takes observation to collapse the wave function, wouldn't the cat suffice?

From the article a big potential leap in quantum computing.

Two Boxes. Alive and Dead at the same time: Sounds more like the basis for a backup system that saves correctly exactly half of the time.

Another possibility is that I have no idea what I'm talking about.

There was/is an old saying, “Garbage in, Garbage out”.

Next saying?

“Uncertainty in, Uncertainty out”.

To physicists the term 'measurement' is more often used than 'observation' to mean the same thing. Schroedinger's Cat points up what is often called the 'measurement problem'. Here is a long but interesting discussion of the four current main candidates for resolution of the measurement problem for all those interested:

The Measurement Problem

It's neat; but even the qubit--as--error correction requires yet another order of observation.

Remarkable also that you must have perfection to correct error, regardless of degree.

A statement is either true or untrue. There is no middle ground between true and untrue.
Anyone who denies that first principle cannot have a discussion with someone who doesn’t.
Don’t blame me. Ask Aristotle and Aquinas.

Is Schrödinger’s cat alive or dead? The only honest answer is, “We don’t know until we look in the box.”

Some wit suggested that Schrödinger’s cat is now the feline equivalent of Dr. Manhattan in the Watchmen series.
