Which may be why Cruz is going all out to win Florida. I’m guessing that if he loses to Trump in Florida that he drops out and endorses Trump.

I don't know about other states, but in Michigan, precinct delegates choose state delegates at district party caucuses which choose RNC delegates. The system is set by the county party leadership (which half of is also chosen by party leadership, while other half are the republican nominees for county office which may or may not be officeholders).
I don't know which way the 7th will go. I expect Cruz to win an 8th district caucus.
It is a legit means, but would it be smart? No. Not in a year where everyone already feels betrayed.
Cruz is finding it uncomfortable to try to say he’s a fellow “outsider” and non-establishment candidate like Trump when he’s built his entire career on his Ivy League education and elitist connections.
THe more the convention becomes “Dealing For Delegates” the more it falls right into Trumps wheelhouse.
The RNC/GOP does not care if they have to burn the party to the ground to prevent the citizens from electing a President that would stop The Cheap Labor Express.
They have always been able to nominate an amnesty candidate, Trump is breaking that stranglehold.
They will do whatever it takes to stop him from becoming President.

He just opened 10 offices in Florida this week. Not enough of an effort to win there. If he were rely committed,this would havehappenedmuchbearlier. He can’t at this late date. His new strategy is to pull enough votes from Rubio to create a disaster for him in Florida, his home state, and make this a two man Race.

Yes & if one hair on Trump’s head is harmed- or of any person in his family, the result would be the same or worse.

Cruz, after he loses FL and OH, will begin to make up with The Donald and will be his veep.
I have thought this from eight months ago. This was all kabuki theater.
Cruz is going all out to win in Fl because he knows that if Rubio wins they go to a brokered convention and both he and Trump would be odd men out. He also knows that once they knock out Trump from contention, he would be the next target.
I am a precinct delegate as well as the chair and I am really looking forward to going through this process.
I've never done it before and though it's a bit confusing it is going to be a great experience.
Ted Cruz needs to stop the party-line attacks on Trump. Demanding his tax returns from an agency he advocates eliminating shows his hypocrisy.
My guess is if Trump is a few hundred delegates short of the 1,237 mark, Cruz and Trump will cut a deal. I still think Trump takes it on the first ballot due to the 40(b) rule, but getting to 1,237 would put the nail in the coffin for the GOP establishment.
Rubio hasn’t won a state primary except for the caucus in Mini-so-cold and he will lose his own state to Trump and Cruz.
If Cruz drops out he will either endorse Trump or stay mum.
He is unlikely to drop out as he is well funded and actually has a path to the nomination.
Neither Kasich or Rubio have a legitimate path and are in it to thwart Trump AND Cruz from getting the nomination. If both of them dropped out it would be a competitive race between Trump and Cruz and Cruz has a very good chance to secure the nomination.
The GOPe would rather have a brokered convention and put up with Hillary as POTUS than to allow an outsider candidate to win in November.
That would be a smart play on his part.
