The Weekly Gardening Thread is a weekly gathering of folks that love soil, seeds and plants of all kinds. From complete newbies that are looking to start that first potted plant, to gardeners with some acreage, to Master Gardener level and beyond, we would love to hear from you. This thread is non-political, although you will find that most here are conservative folks.
No matter what, you won't be flamed and the only dumb question is the one that isn't asked. It is impossible to hijack the Weekly Gardening Thread. Planting, Harvest to Table(recipes)preserving, good living - there is no telling where it will go and... that is part of the fun and interest. Jump in and join us!
NOTE: This is a once a week ping list. We do post to the thread during the week. Links to related articles and discussions which might be of interest are welcomed, so feel free to post them at any time.
We love you, Johnny.
Johnny,
I will meet you on the other side, where we will all have glorified bodies and everyday is the Sabbath.
K
Marcella,
Thank you
Thanks for the update. Glad he is in good hands and is not in any pain as he transitions into the hands of his loving Father. Continued prayers for JRF.
Prayers continuing....
Prayers for our FRiend, Johnny.
May the God of Peace and Comfort hold and surround him and his family.
Blessings to you, Marcella, for being a dear and steadfast friend.
Johnny...thank you for your service to this great nation....and, thank you for being a sweet and thoughtful FRiend.
Me too.
Many of us have to live through winter vicariously enjoying the posts of gardeners from the southern states. LOL
Thanks for the well wishes. Still feeling draggy, but as colds go it wasn’t bad - more just a scratchy throat. Today I have been sneezing like crazy though.
Looks like the upcoming storm is going to miss us. East and South of us. School has been out all week here even though the main roads are clear.
I never got around to putting in my winter crop except for the garlic, and it’s too bad, because weather has been pretty mild so far.
Looking good. Hoping to have another break in the weather to get some more outdoor work done, but though we are warming up tomorrow, nothing like it was last week.
You must be in a similar zone to ours. That’s about the same type of schedule here.
I am sure that is true. My lemons and tomatoes have spoiled me for sure when it comes to store bought produce.
I may not get to the seed starting till end of Feb or 1st of March. Lots going on here besides my hobby.
What zone are you in?
Well that’s lucky that you have had no flooding. Hubby had to go drain the pool from all the rain we had, so I told him to water the fruit trees, since they are so needy in that regard, and up until this week temps have been moderate.
We have cold weather, but not much snow for about a week. Right now it is 24F so about average for this time of year here ay high elevation in the Colorado Rockies.
How hot do you have to keep your greenhouse for pineapples? How long does it take the plant to “make a pineapple”?
That’s a good idea about the tub. Finding a place for growing stuff indoors can be problematic.
Impatience are so pretty, but they don’t like the cold/changing temps.
