BREAKING: Eagles fire head coach Chip Kelly. Kelly led Philadelphia to 26-21 record, 6-9 this year.
Wow— I was just thinking about this today. Getting beat by the Redskins on their home turf for the NFC Least title done him in.
He cut Tim Tebow, who has definitely been persecuted by the NFL for being a Christian. Tebow performed wonderfully in the pre-season. Serves the coach right.
Actually, Andy Reid was a helluva coach too. Just couldn't get over that NFC Championship hump.
Wow
Tebow would have been a much better fit for his offense. Made some really bad moves.
Go Ducks
I wonder if he will file for unemployment compensation like the rest of us who get laid off.
Tebow sucks as a QB. Kelly just happens to also suck as a head coach.

Had a chance to start Tebow and he cuts him. Karma, you overrated coach. Your offensive schemes were better suited for high school football.
You have less football IQ - and less class - than Kelly.
Don’t discount the possibility of Texas making a late move. They need someone who can right the ship in Austin and Charlie Strong isn’t the guy. As someone else observed, the Longhorns were on top of the world just six or seven years ago. They were the premier college football program in the state; they could dominate recruiting and they got the Big 12 to sign off on letting the Horns have their own TV networks while everyone else had to split the revenue from other packages. And they were laughing at the prospect of Texas A&M jumping to the SEC.
These days, UT is probably the sixth best college football program in the state. Schools like TCU and Baylor have blown past them, and the best players in the state no longer have Texas at the top of their list. The Longhorn Network is the worst-performing outlet in the ESPN stable (by far) and there are rumors from Bristol that ESPN’s corporate parent (ABC/Disney) would like to get out of the deal if they could.
Meanwhile A&M is doing well in the SEC, and they’re enjoying the benefits of the conference’s huge TV contracts. The SEC Network had the fastest launch of any sports network in history and is far out-performing rival outlets (including the Big 10 Network and the Longhorn Network) in terms of revenue and profit.
How the mighty have fallen. There are lots of UT boosters who are getting nervous already and they may not want to wait a year. And they can write the checks necessary to get rid of Charlie Strong and have Chip Kelly in Austin in a matter of days.
i don’t think Kelly will have to live on food stamps.
Will DeMarco Murray be back in Dallas next year?
He did a lot more than cut Tebow. He emptied the offensive line of its best players, signed last year’s top NFL rusher and used him to no effect as an east-west runner, and insisted on a hurry-up offense as standard procedure, which resulted in the least ball possession times in the NFL, the result of which was early and chronic exhaustion for the defense. It’s a shock he was let go before the end of the season, but can’t be a surprise.
bummer./s
My husband and I are in shocked.Watching CSN.
The first half of the season showed most of the NFL below .500, and until a little over two weeks ago, every team except the Browns were doing no worse than the hunt for wild card.
