More than a dozen of New York City's most famed hotels are pledging to get greener.

The Waldorf-Astoria New York, the Lotte New York Palace, the Pierre-A Taj Hotel and the Crowne Plaza Times Square are among the 16 city hotels - all currently thronged with tourists visiting New York for the holidays - whose owners have agreed to cut greenhouse gases from their buildings by 30 percent or more in the next decade. ...

Isn’t that special? Yet Obama’s multitudinous vacation flights in Air Force One dwarf the CO2 emissions of all the hotels in the world combined. I’ll believe global warming is a crisis when people who are telling me it is a crisis start acting like it is a crisis.

London hotels have gotten away with this crap for at least ten years - and I’ve stayed at 5 star hotels. No soap, no water, no heat - all because of global warming, hardy har har - not because they want to cut costs at all costs.

I stayed in a London hotel once, a little over a decade ago. Not repeating the experience. Room was the size of a closet. Can imagine the disaster they would be due to the global hoax.

You have to pay out large amounts in London to get good rooms and services. During the 90s, it was AMAZING! Then they used climate change to start cutting back on services...and soap. Now NYC is catching on. Sad. I hope the tourists don’t let them get away with it.

Well, as far as NYC goes, the smoking ban in restaurants was a boon for NJ restaurants. I could imagine doing this in the city will mean very full hotels on the Hudson’s west bank.

The problem with that is most people who are in NYC hotels just smoke in the streets. Some may book into Jersey hotels (which probably ban smoking too!) but most just head off to parks and streets to smoke.

The northeast is just anti-freedom and fascist! Which is why Christie disgusts me - and I voted for him...once.

So I guess they won’t be permitting any demonRat fundraisers, with all the hot air that comes out of them.

Turn off the big, bright billboards that blast the hotel’s name as far as the eye can see. Especially in Times Square. Just have a normal, wooden, non-electrical sign. Willing to do that? I didn’t think so. More PR BS.

No beans at the restaurants?

Or Broccoli, Cauliflower, Brussel Sprouts, Asparagus or Cabbage. And don't even think about ordering dairy!

As s side note to this thread, please consider the excellent article referenced by FReeper Tennessean4Bush which explains scientific problems with global warming fiction.
The Most Comprehensive Assault On 'Global Warming' Ever

Also note that even if global warming had been proven by the consistent results of repeatable, scientific method-base experiments, it remains that the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for INTRAstate global warming issues, the states uniquely having their 10th Amendment-protected state power to address such an issue.

In fact, a previous generation of state sovereignty-respecting justices had clarified that Congress is prohibited from appropriating taxes in the name of state power issues.

”Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” - Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

In other words, all that global warming alarmism amounts to, imo, is a PC excuse to win unconstitutional, unaccountable federal grant funding.
