But not the director, so there is hope.

Just from the trailer the movie looks absolutely dreadful.

Before the game launches, just put GodRays down to medium or low. You won't see much difference and your framerate will be much higher!

Those are lens flares. “God rays” is volumetric lighting.

Sad to hear that Defiance was cancelled. I watched every season, which wasn’t always completely enjoyable, but there was enough character development and story for me to hang tough. Final season was a big improvement.

Yep, definitely cancelled.
When the hero pilots a spacecraft full of hibernating aliens to another star system you know the gig is up.

That show had a lot of promise.
Why can’t SYFY stick with a series long enough for it to catch on?
Much too quick to cancel a promising show and put on some dreck that everyone knows won’t last.

The X Files didn’t set the world on fire the first season but look what it ended up being.
They let the show find its audience.

“Why can’t SYFY stick with a series long enough for it to catch on?”

Your guess is as good as mine -> which is ratings - they live and die by them - story, audience, etc are irrelevant. Counting the beans daily, hour by hour, minute by minute might make accounting success but make a poor story telling venue.

‘Childhood’s End’ is on here in another 15 minutes - will tune in long enough to see beginning. A revised addition does not bode well.

Yeah, these shows always - it seems to me - to end where they should have started.

Pure short sightedness.
Very few shows are instant hits.
Seems like the 18-25 yo demographic rules the airwaves even though they have less money to spend than us older folks.

I am going to give childhoods end and expanse a look see. Not expecting much though.

Today's 18-25 year olds have the attention span of a fruit fly ...

My first thought after watching that, imho, horrible ST Beyond trailer. This is not my ST. Hopefully that rumoured tv series will be more thought provoking, and less ADD driven.

You are far too kind to them!
At least fruit flies are results oriented!
Not so the average 18-25 yo.

BTW, I am watching The Librarians on TNT. Kind of sword, sorcery and magic but Rebbecca Romijn is on it playing a former CIA agent.
She is still stunningly beautiful.
She usually is dressed like you would figure a government employee to dress.
She could make a pantsuit look great.

The ADDness of blockbuster movies is a lot due to the fact that they are geared towards international audiences. Sadly, the old Star Trek movies with the original cast would never be made today. And they never did well internationally.

Foreign audiences just saw old people talking all the time. But they didn't grow up watching the show, and didn't care about the characters. We saw them as old friends.
