Although a Cruz president would be great, he would be wonderful for AG.

Valdez sounds dumb.

The three reasons Valdez gets elected:

1. She is hispanic

2. She has a vagina

3. She is an out-of-the-closet lesbian

That's a trifecta for Democrat fundraising.

What's funny is most blacks who vote for her have no idea about #3.

Nothing wrong with ‘Hispanic.’ IMHO, there is no such thing as ‘Hispanic’ and it should not be on EEOC disclosures. They are either White or possibly Amerindian (Mestizo).

But if all those ‘Hispanics’ are taking English as a Second Language (ESL), THEN you have a problem.

Thank you for referencing that article conservativejoy. Please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

Regardless of PC interpretations of the Constitution’s “uniform Rule of Naturalization” clause (1.8.4) used to justify federal immigration laws, the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate immigration. This is evidenced by the excerpts from the writings of Thomas Jefferson and James Madison in the last part of this post.

So sanctuary city immigration policies are actually protected by the 10th Amendment for as long as state government leaders don’t establish an official policy on the issue imo. But when state government leaders establish official immigration policy, in this case opposite to sanctuary city immigration policy, then the 10A-protected decisions of state government leaders reasonably override the policies of sanctuary cities. Again, this is my opinion.

With all due respect to Gov. Abbott, the problem with his anti-sanctuary city immigration policy is that he is evidently a low-information governor who doesn’t understand the following. The states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate immigration. This is evidenced by the following excerpts from the writings of Jefferson and Madison, Madison generally regarded as the father of the Constitution.

Noting that both Jefferson and Madison referenced 10th Amendment-protected state powers in their statements, here is the relevant excerpt from Jefferson’s writing.

“4. _Resolved_, That alien friends are under the jurisdiction and protection of the laws of the State wherein they are: that no power over them has been delegated to the United States, nor prohibited to the individual States, distinct from their power over citizens. And it being true as a general principle, and one of the amendments to the Constitution having also declared, that “the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people,” the act of the Congress of the United States, passed on the — day of July, 1798, intituled “An Act concerning aliens,” which assumes powers over alien friends, not delegated by the Constitution, is not law, but is altogether void, and of no force [emphasis added].” —Thomas Jefferson, Draft of the Kentucky Resolutions - October 1798.

And here is the related excerpt from the writings of James Madison in Virginia Resolutions.

"That the General Assembly doth particularly protest against the palpable and alarming infractions of the Constitution, in the two late cases of the “Alien and Sedition Acts" passed at the last session of Congress; the first of which exercises a power no where delegated to the federal government, ...

… the General Assembly doth solemenly appeal to the like dispositions of the other states, in confidence that they will concur with this commonwealth in declaring, as it does hereby declare, that the acts aforesaid, are unconstitutional; and that the necessary and proper measures will be taken by each, for co-operating with this state, in maintaining the Authorities, Rights, and Liberties, referred to the States respectively, or to the people [emphasis added]. ”— James Madison, Draft of the Virginia Resolutions - December 1798.

Why is Texas one of the most prosperous and sane states with more jobs than just about any blue states? Maybe because it has more God fearing and gun toting 2nd amendment rights adocates than it does retard libtards?

Go Governor Abbott!

If she will not comply, send the Texas Rangers in there and arrest her for conspiracy to violate the law, for reckless endangerment, for colluding with known criminals, etc., etc.

Abbott has done well so far. This one os excellent, and he also signed into law a bill that allows open carry, it takes effect Jan 1.

So he kept his word, he stated both before and after being elected if the Texas state legislature put an open carry bill on his desk he would sign it, he did.

Now he’s trying to do something to shut down sanctuary cities, good for him. We have a serious problem here with illegal immigrants. I’ve dealt with it since 1976, theft, slums, 15 to an apartment, can’t find a job if you’re American...my stuff has been stolen, they have tried to start fights, but only if I’m outnumbered at least 3 to 1...one asked me for a ride after I passed a wreck just outside town, I said no. I looked back, he was running to catch up with my truck and jump on the back...I had a hard time deciding whether to stomp the gas or brakes, finally decided on the gas pedal. Brakes would have bashed the creep in the head, he was only a few feet away and running fast as he could. I was really tempted...

I guess I also need to check and see what he’s doing to beef up border security. Perry brought in the National Guard before he left office...

Someone noted we have more jobs and better economy than most places, mostly true, except for places like out here in the boonies, it’s because we have no state income tax, no tax on groceries, lower taxes in general and a better environment for businesses. Good housing market, middle of the road education.

Abbott has also been hitting planned parenthood, killed all funding already and from what I understand is investigating. Now we need to get rid of a coupe of liberal lesbian mayors...the one in Houston should be first to go.

One of the problems we have politically, is that Austin, the state capitol in Travis County (I think that’s right), is the only county in the state that’s predominantly Democrat. That means Democrats have a lot of pull in Austin.

Our hired hands should not be able to meet out justice on a “case by case” basis, ignoring the law. That’s tyranny.

The real solution is to end sovereign immunity. Make Valdez personally liable and strip her of her rank and pension.
