As a teenager we had a kitten - very young - appear in our back yard. She was my cat and stayed with us as long as I was at home. She would go out during the day and play in the woods beside our house. Sometimes she’d proudly present her catch of the day. She’d reappear in the evening, sometimes climbing the tree just outside my window and meow to be let in. Loved her. Her name was Kaeki - Hawaiian for baby

Oddly enough, I went to school with a girl who had flawless penmanship even as a 7 year old.
Her handwriting was a bit ‘balloony” for my tastes but it was still perfect.
Yet I, who could draw and paint anything, had penmanship that looked like a drunken spider had stepped into a puddle of ink and went staggering across the paper.
Still do.
