When you wake up does your butt hurt?

Apple runs their $700B company on PCs running windows!

You think those data centers are filled with racks of Macs?

“This isn’t a real hate-Apple thread until you attack Tim Cook for being a homosexual.

I give you a 5.5/10”

Sorry about that. Here you go:

Mr. Cook the fudgepacker is doing a fantastic job at making Apple the Kia of the tech world. After all, his crap don’t stink. He’s too busy smearing it on love letters sent to little pizza places in Indiana and high fiving washed up rock bands instead of actually running a giant corporation. And telling his cross-dressing San Fran butt buddies over at Apple to “make what Microsoft and Samsung are making since our queer unicorn power is fading.”

Do I get a 10 now?

Nope, not a bit. The only time I have any discomfort in that area is after that very undignified and uncomfortable yearly exam at the doc’s office. Well, and after eating some three alarm chili.

But thanks for asking.

No, I think their data centers are filled with thousands of 1U blades attached to a boatload of storage. The OSs they run probably run the gamut of what’s available and what makes sense for the specific functions of the servers.

AIX/Unix and yes, even windows.

Take a look at some of their job postings for their data centers.

If Apple is indeed ready to turn its sights back to the enterprise, you can be sure that the boys in Redmond won’t be taking it lightly.

I don’t see them running anything but their own gear on the front end stuff in Apple HQ. Do you?

I doubt if Jeffrey Snover is losing any sleep over it. After the XServe debacle, it'll take some convincing to get people back onto that bandwagon. It appears they've given that up in favor of consumer entertainment appliances.

About what I expected.

So, which multi-billion dollar company are you running these days?

According to you, running a multi-billion dollar SS Titanic means you’re exempt from God’s and nature’s laws. It entitles you to force your gaystapo agenda through said company against little Christian mom and pop shops. And steal ideas from other companies because you couldn’t run a lemonade stand without your queer buddies holding your Johnson the whole way. Right?

How conservative of you. Keep buying those wonderful Apple tinker toys.

And before you pass any more judgment, let me tell you I bought an Apple II in April of ‘77. Then the first Mac in ‘84. A IIc and a LaserWriter in January of ‘85. Got a IIGS in ‘88. A PowerBook in ‘92. An LC580 in ‘95 and an iMac in ‘98 (a big piece of junk). Bought 10’s of thousands of dollars worth of stock in the 80’s and sold it in the late 90’s when the company lost its way. I’ve probably bought more Apple software and devices than you can ever shake a stick at.

What’s your excuse there chief???

So, you bought high and sold low? Imagine if you had held onto it. And when Jobs came back and introduced the iPod, bought more when it was low. You’d be sitting real pretty right now.

Is that why you’re cranky?

Don’t think there’s any gay people up in Redmond? Think they don’t support gay causes?

Linux. I’m sure there’s no gay people there. Dell, HP, IBM....

And no, I’m not a fan of the gaystopo. But if you’re going to boycott every company that has some gay people in it, you’re gonna find yourself living in a cave building a computing device out of “bone knives and bear skins.” h/t Mr. Spock.

I have no experience with a bible that authorizes me to judge others.

It entitles you to force your gaystapo agenda through said company against little Christian mom and pop shops.

I'm willing to bet cash money that you do business with gays all day long. Does everyone you associate with swear oaths that they are not gay? Singling out groups based on their beliefs–  and requiring purity oaths–  seems more Nazi-like than evaluating a company on their merits of the things they produce. Or berating on people for the choices they freely make in their own lives. Would you agree?

And steal ideas from other companies

Evidence? Last time I checked Apple was winning lawsuits pretty much nonstop. The premise is doubly foolish when you consider that they can buy just about anything they want– why risk litigation? Wait! It's because they're evil!

because you couldn’t run a lemonade stand without your queer buddies holding your Johnson the whole way. Right?

You are comparing the building of the biggest and most successful consumer products company in history to running a lemonade stand?

And what's with the obsession with other people and their sex lives? It really seems like you and dennisw have something in common– just sayin'.

Oh yeah, again, please direct me to your business successes (second request).

How conservative of you. Keep buying those wonderful Apple tinker toys.

It is a conservative principle that merit succeeds. When Apple products suck, no one will buy them. Tell me, who is right? You, or everyone else?

It seems an odd pissing contest to propose, where you're saying you've purchased more from a company you hate than I have** but... whatever.

You got one lemon product in many otherwise good purchases. Here's an idea: don't buy their products if you hate them.

And you freely admit that you bought the stock high and sold low. So now we know: you're a lousy investor! Seems like your beef is really with... you.

** I don't mean to brag, but I've evaluated and purchased a tremendous amount of computer equipment over the years. But I think it makes you feel superior, so I won't hurt your feelings by telling you how much I spent.

Oh I tripled my money there chief. Bought at $1.50 and sold at $5.00 or so. Got tired of waiting 17 years for the stock to improve. Got tired of waiting for a decent product. Jobs couldn’t get it done. And neither could the board. Fortunately for me I bought 50000 shares of Intel at $.08 and cashed out at $36 a share. That made up for the cruddy performance by Apple.

There’s a big difference between supporting faggotry behind closed doors and ramming it down consumers’ throats. That being said if I don’t hear about it or don’t see it in ads or on the news as a political circus, so be it.

Lousy investor??? Surely you jest.

There’s a monumental difference between judgment and righteousness. As a Christian I would think you would understand the difference.

I love it when liars make it ridiculously simple to hoist them on their own lying petards so easily. Up Yours Marxists' tale of Apple stock woe just doesn't hold its own water and leaks like a rusty sieve when you look at the facts, IncPen.

UYM states he bought into Apple for $1.50, held his position for 17 years, then "tripled his investment" when he dumped his Apple stock "for $5 or so" because it hadn't moved. . . with the implication that during this period Sreve Jobs and the board failed to make it move.

Raw meat for an Economist with a minor in Finance like me. . . I'm going to eat UYM's lunch, IncPen!

Apple's 1980 initial public offering was at $22 a share. At no time after the IPO, was Apple stock ever sold for $1.50 or $5.00 or so. By 1987, Steve Jobs was gone from Apple. Even during the financial crunch in 1996-1997, Apple stock was selling for around the $16 to $30 range, certainly nowhere near $5! In August 1997, Steve Jobs is brought back and starts cutting product lines and streamlining Apple. The iMac is brought out in 1998, and the stock begins a steady and soon spectacular rise for the next ten years. . . A 2000% increase to 2009, unseen before in US stock history. By 2010, multiple new products had been rolled out. . . And by 2012, Apple became the largest company on Earth by market cap. Still no $1.50 or $5.00 stock prices to be found. . . and no 17 year period of "no Steve Jobs" successful products that fits the UYM narrative as stated.

The implicication that Up Yours Marxists wants us to believe is that he bought the Apple stock when he bought all those Apple devices. . . but since the stock story doesn't fit ANY FACTUAL HISTORY, then I don't think his "I bought all these Apple devices" story does either. It was tossed out there to make you think he's just an old time Apple guy who's been burned by Apple misdeeds. It's an a tried and true anti-Apple troll tactic that is hoary with age.

I’d forgotten about this thread. I never even bothere to look up the stock prices for back then, because the promise was laughable.

These are just Utterly ridiculous assertions by someone who is blinded with rage. I can’t for the life of me understand what motivates someone to troll these threads in the face of the overwhelming success of the thing they oppose.

What’s his name, the other troll, has been quiet lately, at least as far as I can tell. Maybe he’s in treatment.

Perhaps not directly related, but it is humorous in context...I went to download some software from Microsoft, and had to do a double-take when I went to their website...thought I was at Apple's site:

********************************

And here is Apple's site...seems almost as if Microsoft used the same fonts and everything...
