Apple today announced two new accessories which are blatant rip-offs from Microsoft. In addition to announcing iPad Pro to take on Surface Pro, Apple also announced Smart Cover (Touch Cover clone) and Apple Pencil (Surface Pen). Apple Smart Cover will attach to iPad Pro using Magnets. And Apple Pencil will support pressure sensitivity just like Surface Pen.

Hello Microsoft,
As if your (completely awful) Windows didn’t improve (finally) by lately copying a competent operating system done by Apple.
Shove it, Microsoft. You’r done.
You must be watching too many conspiracy movies like Pirates of Silicon Valley. Get your facts straight about the licensing agreement both companies had and the lawsuit Apple lost because of it. And the PARC project. That too.
It cuts both ways. Bill Gates certainly didn’t come up with certain technologies, but he did have the vision about how to use them to create value and execute on those ideas. Apple and Microsoft were similar companies in the sense that they has certain core competencies that they excelled at, but that left many areas they were terrible at. And they are both still around today, because of the successes in the areas they excelled at.
You should step away from the computer.
Are you an iGroupie?
Of course it cuts both ways. But the iGroupies always think their iGod wills all their technology from silicon and the blowing winds coming from the pursed lips of iShiva.
Totally.
I work on server-side projects (mainly) using a multitude of technology, but also iOS and Android.
My preferred dev machine is a Macbook Pro. Some of the other engineers prefer linux.
It just doesn’t matter.
The only thing I’ve really noticed is the move away from Windows on the desktop in the last five years - for engineers and so on.
The only two inventors ...
Sorry, but I’ve had to work with both systems. To me, Microsoft is the Yugo of the industry. Poor products, poorly thought out and even more poorly executed.
To each his own.
No, the story is clear. Bill Gates was working with Jobs to adapt his Word software to the Mac and then went back and developed windows as a copy of the Mac OS.
But that does not matter because Apple has always been able to make products that inspired people and women in particular. Things like smartphones existed unsuccessfully for years before the iphone. Same thing with the Dell MP3 vs. ipod. Apple just made it more pallatable.
Yeah, Microsoft products are so poorly thought out that Apple just blatantly and shamelessly ripped off the Surface touch cover and the Surface pen from Microsoft. Apple are the biggest rip off merchants in the business. You Applebot crazies just crack me up.
Microsoft pen ~ $40. Apple pencil ~ $99.
Good ole #2? Still about a nickle.
Apple fanatics tend to be on their best days either hypocrites, serial exaggerators, and being masters of double-speak.
Apple does something first means they are innovators and any company that does it after are stealing Apple’s ideas because they aren’t creative. Now if a company does something first, Apple will first mock it, and its fans will parrot the company line. Then Apple will copy it years later just in the most blatant fashion. Apple’s fans will then break into their usual line of “apple got it right”, never explaing how it was wrong to begin with, or the clichéd “there is nothing wrong with Apple wanting to keep current” line. All the while pretending like they never run around screaming about how other people steal Apple’s ideas and need to be sued.
And of course they love to pretend, along with the Linux loons, that everything Microsoft makes is so busted that people spend most of the day without a usable device or that everyone that uses them are just miserable.
