After UTs landmark decision last week to encourage students and faculty alike to use gender-neutral pronouns when referring to those who would prefer it, fear has reached critical capacity on Rocky Top. The masses fled to Facebook trying to figure out what UT was playing at, sharing posts and articles completely misinterpreting the message of comfort and equality UT was trying to convey. Administration and the Office for Diversity and Inclusion have been swamped with what is arguably the worst PR nightmare on campus since the first Sex Week, so they have been forced to reach a decision to save time in responding to all of the misinformation: The pronouns he and she are permanently banned from use.

Does he get hazard pay?
They only need three pronouns: “he” for males, “she” for females, and “it” for the freaks who don’t know which they are.
It’s too bad that this move will further isolate intellectuals from the common sense of the people. Imagine speaking with one of these college people, then turning to a third person, and referring to the other person present right there as “it”. Any ordinary person would be insulted. The only remedy under such a convoluted schema would be to require people to use specific, artificial, abstract gender neutral pronouns. Intellectuals don’t need to be moving away from the treasury of common sense of the people, they need to be moving toward commonality.
You are 100% correct, Charles. This idiocy will not be tolerated outside the bastions of leftist group-think that our universities and colleges have become. Imagine trying to pitch a proposal to a boardroom full of suited executives using these “replacement” pronouns!
This is how it works:
1. After this nonsense is announced, there is always an immediate backlash.
2. Eventually that will die down, and things will proceed apace while no one is looking.
3. In 5-10 years, this will be the new normal. Any inevitable, future outrages will only serve to move the dial to the Left even more.
Long ago when this nonsense was just beginning to be hinted at, my father, a soft-spoken country parson who more-or-less never cussed, suggested that the most appropriate choice for a gender neutral pronoun would be s/h/it.
Bull$h!t. No one tells me how to talk or think.
He, she, and it will all be replaced by one pronoun “he-oly-she-it”.
