I have a tendency to worsen a bad situation by trying to talk my way out of it, a sure fire formula for exacerbating the problem.

The misery I suffered with my sprained ankle was exacerbated by 9 hours of teaching difficult children, topped off by being stung by a venomous insect.

I am now waiting to see if i need to go either to the ER or just stay on FR.

Makes me think of these passages:

Proverbs 21:9 It is better to live in a corner of a roof, Than in a house shared with a contentious woman.

Proverbs 27:15-16 A constant dripping on a day of steady rain And a contentious woman are alike; vs.16 He who would restrain her restrains the wind, And grasps oil with his right hand.

Proverbs 21:19 It is better to live in a desert land, Than with a contentious and vexing woman.

Proverbs 25:24 It is better to live in a corner of the roof Than in a house shared with a contentious woman.

Anything you might say to her would only exacerbate the problem, according to Proverbs 27:16.

Some kind of evil bee that got into my car. I got the stinger out, and dashed the thing to the ground, and smashed it to a pulp with my cane.

The remains were unrecognizable.

I received Anne Graham Lotz emails a few months back, entitled "MayDay, MayDay, a call to prayer", sharing her message that she feels the end is near. Was very distressed to see this AM that her husband was found nonresponsive in the family pool. Every day things seem to pick up speed, and this feeling of the end being near crosses all denominational lines.

and I forgot to use the word in my homework: I imagine that the loss of her husband has exacerbated Anne Lotz’ feelings of the end approaching.

(exacerbate) ...

Hmmn. Do rounded parenthesis around the word exacerbate the appearance of a exasserbated word? (Or, as an observer may phrase the question, “Do these parenthesis exassberte my word of the day?”)
