Liam Neeson is in talks to star as U.S. Army General Douglas MacArthur in South Korean war pic Operation Chromite from Taewon Entertainment. A Taewon rep confirmed the news Wednesday to Deadline. John H. Lee is on-board to direct the project, which looks at the Battle of Incheon, a major turning point in 1950 in the Korean War in which United Nations forces launched a surprise attack against communist North Korean forces. Operation Chromite was the codename for the operation. The Korean War was fought between 1950-1953 and ended in a stalemate that exists today, with simmering hostilities between the Western-allied South and Communist North.

I was an extra in that film.
With Neeson in the role, will they re-write macArthur to be a Muslim?
Hey Liam, there are guns in the movie. They’re baaaaddd...

I’m finished with Liam Neeson. Does he know that MacArthur once fired a gun in anger.
They can’t find an American actor to play MacArthur?
I will no longer watch movies with him in it.
Gregory Peck did a good job some years ago.
A much better choice for the role IMHO would have been Cairian Hinds, who played Julius Caesar in HBO’s Rome. But I guess he’s not as bankable a name as Neeson.
I wonder if Neeson is going to call Task Force Smith and say “You’re about to be taken. Stay calm. Tell me all you can about the enemy- describe their clothes, their weapons, any tattoos.”
My My My Ping!
Korean budgets are pretty small by US standards by necessity. Maybe they think this film will have some western appeal or something.
LOL! For someone who hates guns, he sure used to make a lot of money in movies using the crap out of them. But apparently, that’s okay. You and me? Not so much.
What is really funny about watching Korean dramas sometimes is their “American” characters are usually French or German or Uzbek or whoever they happened to find that looks right in Itawon (tourist area in Seoul)
Wait a minute they did that already with Gregory Peck it was on last month on Grit tv LOL!
Will he make sure there are no guns shown in the movie?
Indeed. First Lawrence Olivier, now Liam Neeson.
I’m used to entertainers who take idiotic positions in real life but can still play a good role. Martin Sheen for example. A lefty for sure, but I still like him as Lee in “Gettysburg.” And how many of us listen to John Lennon or Elton John? Neeson was good in K-19, too. As for the last Inchon movie (the Moonie one), I saw that thing 35 years ago. And it was BAD.
Zero chance of me going.
