Genius.
I grew up in So Cal listening to Vin Scully and thankfully, Scully is still announcing. I miss Chick Hearn (1916-2002), John Wooden (1910-2010), and Jim Murray (1919-1998). Scully has a sweet, welcoming, dulcet voice and wonderful stories. Sure, his stories get repeated but it is still fun for the youngsters.
Wow, talk about piling on the icons... Ebbets Field, Vin Scully, WOR, Lucky Strikes, and Schaefer Beer.

That one suck part about living in Alaska for few years in 1990s NO Vin Scully this way before internet streaming ES BOY was I glad when I came back that first spring
I knew spring was just around the corner when I first hear Vin Scully voice
Being a Cardinal fan, it’s still a welcomed treat to listen to him broadcast a game. Wonderful stories, and the one thing I have noticed this year is that during a broadcast, he spends a great deal of time talking about the opposing team. He educates his home audience on players that are not Dodgers. He is not a Dodger blue homie. He expands the game of baseball for his listeners.
