The 10 smartest countries based on math and science
Business Insider ^ | 05/13/2015 | Matthew Speiser

Singapore is the smartest country in the world, followed by Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Finland, Estonia, Switzerland, Netherlands and Canada rounding out the top 10.

The BBC says this is the conclusion of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), an economic think tank that outlined its findings in a new report ranking countries' school systems based on students math and science test scores.

The report – which the BBC received early access to – will be formally presented at the World Education Forum in South Korea next week.

Of the 76 countries ranked, the top half is largely dominated by Asian nations, the BBC reports. European countries take up a majority of spots 5 through 30 in the rankings, and the United States sits at the tail end of the top third, tied at 28th with Italy. The bottom half of the rankings feature mostly African and Latin American countries.

The bottom 10? Saudi Arabia at 66th, followed by Colombia, Qatar, Indonesia, Botswana, Peru, Oman, Morocco, Honduras, South Africa, and Ghana in last place.

I’m certain that the United States headed this list during the Reagan years. But with the advent of KKKarter and a string of liberals thereafter, the American education has been on a downhill trajectory. They value multiculturalism over real learning.

Clearly smart doesn’t mean wise.

I worked in Indonesia on a job. The head engineer (Indonesian) for a group of six guys got out to investigate the overheating company truck they were driving. I watched as he popped the hood, looked at the steam spewing out for a bit, and then reached out with his bare hand to undo the radiator cap. Luckily one of the first words I learned at the site was Bahiya. (Danger!)

They have to learn the new morality of the left — gender fluidity, orientation immutability, etc. Everything revolves around the feelings of liberals. The feelings of conservatives don’t matter one iota. In fact it is a principled thing to insult them every chance you get and to bar them from any active participation. They can stay if they will shut up.

If the educrats have time they will teach the kids to read and write, albeit with ridiculous methods.

The bottom half of the rankings feature mostly African and Latin American countries.

And those are the types that hussein is importing en masse to America. By dumbing down the Republic, it will be far easier for him to establish a mooselimb caliphate here.

'Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Finland, Estonia, Switzerland, Netherlands and Canada'

Not exactly havens of diversity.

“I’m certain that the United States headed this list during the Reagan years. But with the advent of KKKarter and a string of liberals thereafter...”

FRiend, if you think Jimmy Carter came AFTER Reagan, then you’re a shining example of the failure of modern education in America.

I’m just saying. . .

My mistake, the intent was to write KKKlinton. Since they're both anti-American leftwing lunatics, at my advanced age and this hour, being imperfect, I hope you'll accept my sincere apologies. Note that I, on occasion, also write "it's" when I know better and ought write "its" to indicate the possessive form rather than the contraction.

In any event, it's past my bed time and I've been up way too late. So, I thank you so much for the much-needed rebuke.

We had an exchange student from Switzerland last year. Their high schools are stratified by tests they take in the 8th grade.

I wouldn’t doubt we are comparing their top 20% to our mainstreamed 100%.

“Did he thank you?”

I don’t remember that part. (I was about 50 feet away).

I recall another time when a worker (not an engineer - just some guy) was going to fill up some 55 gallon drums with diesel to get picked up by the helicopter. The control valve was at the big tank (not at the end of the hose like at the gas station). Again, I’m a bit away loading up my stuff for the chopper - but watching him.

He turns the spigot at the tank, and with diesel pouring out walks over to the 55 gal. drums. Tries to undo the bung to open it up. Can’t do it with one hand. Sets down the hose and tries with two hands. Still can’t. Then he spies a wrench laying on top of one of the other drums. Walks over, grabs it and once he gets back to his drum he looks down at the hose, looks at the drum, looks at the big tank, and then decides he better turn the diesel off at the tank. Dumping fuel the entire time!

I didn’t say anything - didn’t feel it was my place to.

All of Africa is last, and the muzzies that supposedly invented modern math are not at the the top? Blasphemy!

I KNOW this survey has to be BS...putting Russia, a powerhouse in math, that low, something is obviously wrong.
