Way before people were making fun of TV shows via Twitter, the guys from "Mystery Science Theater 3000" were on TV making fun of movies. Really bad movies. Now the cult comedy favorite is returning to the small screen thanks to Twin Cities Public Television. That's right, the irreverent show is public TV fare. TPT will be airing four classic episodes of the beloved low-budget show starting on March 21 (10 p.m.) and for the three following Saturdays. Fans of the "MST3K," which started in the Twin Cities at KTMA in the late '80s before moving to Comedy Central (originally known as the Comedy Channel) and then to Syfy (then known as the Sci Fi Channel) until its cancelation in 1999, are sure to welcome its return.

Same here. I'll watch...I won't donate.
FMCDH(BITS)
I didn’t watch this show much, but I did used to live the show. My college friends and I used to watch Star Trek in the dorm’s common TV room, and rip it to shreds. Then I saw this show and realized someone figured out they could get paid to do what did for free.
I feel so old- 20+ years of my husband and I saying, “push the button, Frank.”

They’re still at it at http://www.rifftrax.com
Here is a trailer of them ripping the 90’s Vanilla Ice movie.
Pumaman is more my speed.
Is Xenalyte still here?
The same guys who originally did MST3000 also have made videos called Riff Trax where they continue to skewer bad movies, but without the robots. Riff Trax are available on Hulu Plus. The very best of their work is lampooning Jesse Ventura’s stinker movie Abraxis.
You can get ‘em on Netflix, too. :)
I think it used to be mystery science theater 2000 before the year 2000. i still see the three heads on my tv. must have burned into the leds.
Was it 3000 then? I seem to remember 2000.
You can watch almost all the episodes (including the KTMA days) there.
If you go to http://www.mst3kinfo.com/ you can get lots of info about the episodes.
I spend my lunch hour now watching 1/2 a show (45 minutes).
I have worked my way though almost the whole run.
“KEEP CIRCULATING THE TAPES”
BTW...it’s ALWAYS been 3000. Even in the KTMA days.
Unfortunately they won’t be showing “Overdrawn at the Memory Bank” which was partially funded by a public television station which had a Public Pearl TV pledge drive during the intermissions. But the do have “Manos: the Hands of Fate” which was the worst movie ever made.
“Sail on Servo, I love a robot with Panache!”
Not voluntarily, at least. If you’re paying taxes in MN., you’re donating through extortion.
