In a sign of his rising interest in a potential 2016 presidential bid, Ohio Gov. John R. Kasich (R) said Tuesday he is studying up on foreign policy and beginning to outline his worldview, which includes support for sending U.S. ground forces to fight the Islamic State.

I have always liked Kasich.
Whatever his views on American jobs or Defense, I like him. He seems like a nice guy.
This seems like good news.
I hope he runs.
...”fight” needs to be replaced with “destroy”!
No boots on the ground until all that’s left of these savages requires the Hazmat cleanup teams.
Glass them.
Kasich is a fine person who left Washington DC on purpose. I believe he is very qualified.
No boots on the ground, period.
We did that. For ten years. Enough.
If the Iraqis don’t care enough to fight for themselves (and we surely gave them more than enough equipment to do so),
then let them live with Islam.
Or let them face what Islam really is. And deal with it.
Send those without jobs, our socialist safety nets. They don’t have to kill for the booty and the booty. /sarc
That is also my impression.
This is in my opinion, a very good development.
Anyone who has been in infantry type units knows it takes men on the ground to call in and direct CAS and other air power. Without our boots on the ground to do it we are wasting a lot of ordinance on where we suspect the enemy is. Yes there are other means but none are as effective as a friendly set of eyes on the target to direct and adjust.
Agree. I was hoping he’d run a month ago.
There are boots on the ground already. It is just a case that the government does not want to call those soldiers training Iraqi soldiers boots on the ground.
Yes, but $hithead will not send them against his buddies.
Good idea.
I like that he doesn't shy away from dealing with minority communities, and that paid off in the last election. I like that someone finally admitted to having to study up on foreign affairs. I like his autobiography, his sincerity, and his down to earth personality. I love the last campaign he ran....smart, firm, and fair.
But I don't like, not at all, that he's starving local communities to balance the budget, while financing stuff establishment construction interests love and unnecessary things. I don't like, not at all, that he defied state legislators and expanded Medicaid in OH. I'm not sure he'd stop and reverse the invasion of the US....he hasn't done much about it in OH. As a result, invaders are filling a lot of jobs US citizens should be doing.
It's complex. In Kasich's favor, I think he's got a real quick learning curve. I think he's dedicated and interesting. Cruz/Kasich might have some merit.
Palin / Kasich
Kasich / Palin
Both are very good as well.
There appear to be a lot of columns of trucks out in the open that a squadron or two of A-10s or Apaches could take care of without ground-based spotting, for a start.
Yes, that is very reasonable. I honestly believe Obama and his boss VJ are so indoctrinated into the Muslim religion that they will only drop a few bombs here and there for show. They opened this can of worms by helping throw out Gaddafi. Then we had an ambassador killed by the bastards and they did nothing but lie to all of us. This admin is full of treasonous SOB’s.
