McLean told us the music died in 1959. If it did, it sure recovered quickly. I think it may have died again in 1977, and we still haven't seen its return.

Something about a nearby thread made me think of it.

I saw the original band many times in Florida, including the Lakeland, FL show that was the second from the last show before the plans crash.
Lucky you Mtn. Jealous here.
I miss those unapologetically southern bands.

Dicky Betts’ Jessica.
Love Duane’s blues and his undeniable ability but Dicky’s southerness made for more originality.
Just a happy note:
All my little students have a new hobby...Collecting Classic vinyl to play on the new little record players they got for Christmas!
And of course, they have ME to advise them. Vinyl is now $24.95. about 3X what we paid back in the day.

here’s one as well. if i could play guitar i don’t think i could do it in front of all that t and a.
LOL...I do remember singles (45rpm) for 69 CENTS. (there is no sign for “cents” on the keyboard. Has anyone else noticed that?
here are some of the albums the kids are buying:
Moondance
Kansas
Anything by the Beatles
Led Zep
Pink Floyd
ELO
Moody Blues
Kids are loving real MUSIC again!
Huzzah!
Singles were 99 cents here- Canadian prices were always higher.
I think what’s happening is that the kids are tired of the prefab autotune junk that the major labels are putting out, so they’re turning to oldies and indies.
Yes indeed.
I HOPE I have had something to do with their evolving tastes in music!
That was with a two guitar attack. No Ed king or Steve Gaines.
You might like this. From a southern band that was unique in many ways.
Thanks. Awesome. I’ve never seen that video.
