So, I’m guessing in just before a statute of limitations kicks in?
So many cheesy lawyers, so few guillotines.
What, the rifle was supposed to jam and not work right?
This is a loser, nuisance suit and the attorney that took it shouldn’t’ have.
So, he murdered the owner of the gun and then pried open the safe said gun was locked in.
And the gun maker is at fault????
Mainly it just sits there, I keep an eye on it.
To the best of my knowledge it hasn't caused any havoc.
I'll keep watching it just in case.
Sounds like it’s time for someone to start doing some 4GW against the “Newtown families.”
Next up they’ll be suing Toyota, since that was the car Lanza drove that fateful day.
If only Toyota hadn’t made that car....
Wrong!
It's no different than any other semi-automatic rifle, just looks scarier.
“...because it is a military weapon unsuited for civilian use...”
And legally who is to say if it is unsuited for civilian use? ...Our overlords? A Brown Bess Musket is also a military weapon with a bayonet lug. A brace of 1851 Navy revolvers can also provide sustained firepower.
Perhaps the reason the majority of the families did not participate is because they know it is not Bushmasters fault. There was simply no security or resistance at the school.
If someone decides to get behind the wheel of a Ford Taurus and run some people over, would the families of the victims be justified in suing Ford Motor Company and the dealership that sold the car?
After the second world war the United States was the largest manufacturer of privately owned aircraft. It was a huge and promising market employing thousands. Then began the lawsuits. Now, a plane’s cost is more than doubled by the insurance the manufacturer must carry for each one sold. Most of those manufacturers are out of business. The same could happen to any industry. The only ones to prosper are the attorneys.
“The negligence and wrongful death lawsuit asserts that the Bushmaster AR-15 rifle should not have been made publicly available because it is a military weapon unsuited for civilian use.”
It’s a military weapon? Not that it IS a military weapon
but according to the constitution that is precisely the
arms defined that we, not only have a right but are civilly
obligated to possess.
Yes sue them instead of doing something that will actually protect your children. Like making the school not a gun-free zone. But that would be extreme...
I get that they are grieving and will for a long, long time to come. I feel very sad for them. But that does not excuse the ignorance behind this stupid assumption that taking away our guns will stop acts of violence. To be safer, we need more gun freedoms, not fewer.
By this logic, why not sue the car manufacturer that the shooter used to drive to the school?
I guess enforcement of the “Protection in Lawful Commerce Act” is optional now that we have an emperor instead of a president?
They didn't do their homework.
Google is their friend, if they used it:
Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act
This is not about legislating via the courts. This is only about money.
they should be suing the morons who created an attractive target by making the school ‘gun free’ and disarmed every person who could have protected those children. those people who enacted these policies and regulations are much more contributory.
remember how the principal had to confront a madman armed with this ‘horrible assault weapon’ with just her bare hands? THERE’S the real crime
