Most Freepers think a government shutdown would benefit the country yet all surveys are phrased as "Who would you BLAME for a government shutdown?"
I say we need surveys using the word credit instead of blame.
The only way the Republican RINOs would get the courage to do it is if they thought they would get credit instead of blame. This is why this question is critical.
Well, let me see. George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, Gouverneur Morris, Robert Morris, James Wilson.....well, you get the picture.
The President is the ONLY person who can shut down the govt.
Political “shutdowns” are dramatic fakery and not shutdowns at all. The shutdown that will allow true recovery to begin through healthy, distributed production will be the end of the default process—a repudiation of debt that will send tens of millions of troublemakers home for good.
God.
Military issues aside, given that that one of the very few government services that the feds actually have the constitutional authority to regulate is the US Mail Services (1.8.7), I credit the Founding States for introducing what would be regarded as a near-complete shutdown with respect to todays unconstitutionally big federal government.
In the event of a Federal Govt shutdown, regulatory authority (Border protection, education, labor law, abortion, environment, parks) shall be “reserved to the States respectively, or to the people”.
As it should be, but Obama would go out of his way to make it as painful as possible to ordinary people, like spending money to keep people away from statues and monuments.
Obama is doing everything in his power to prevent any and all government shutdowns. If it happens it will be a bad thing in the media.
He has the media and his sycophant base “all in” on central control.
He wants to put an end to Congressional control of the Executive. He is a Marxist complete.
If he gets the Judicial it is all done.
The GOPe misread these polls. They view it as a negative if they get blamed, yet most of us view it as a positive
No need to shut down the whole government. SELECTIVE SHUTDOWN is the way to effectively execute this. EPA regs? Shut down the funding for areas of the EPA trying to enforce those Regs. Go after the Amnesty executive order, don’t fund any part if it. SELECTIVEMDEFUNDING could stop the lunacy and make individual political points. don’t shut down the government, shut down the LUNACY! That is the WINNING strategy.
Yet, close to 70% of people polled were against his EO amnesty which would be the driving force behind such a shutdown - can't see how Repubs should suffer more than the Dims who back such crap.
