Lobster- cockroach of the sea. A century and a half ago, if you tried to feed servants lobster more than once or twice a week you would’ve had an insurrection on your hands. Lobster was considered to be very poor food indeed. now people are dying for it?

One spot on the back side of Anacapa island, before lobster season opened, the damn things would be thick as bugs under rock ledges, antenna wiggling everywhere, like they knew you could not grab them.

If I could afford it, I would have lobster every day.

That isn’t lobster. There are no claws. It’s a big shrimp.

I am grateful DH gave up “hunting” lobsters at night.

I read a medical report to him that said many recreational divers have brain damage from nitrogen bubbles lodged in the brain from diving.

Better he’s out on the road on his motorcycle, right?

And to think at one time lobsters were considered ‘sea garbage’ and fed to prisoners.

To each his own. I’m more of a crab/shrimp/clams kind of a guy with the occasional Icelandic cod for my fish ‘n chips. I went to this Hawaiian place once that specialized in meat skewers grilled over wood (beef, chicken, pork and shrimp) with sides- all you can eat on the skewers. I know I said shrimp, but these things were Vietnamese prawns, and they were huge. They were marinated in a ginger sauce...heaven!

I just knew it! They are bugs. My boss order one for me during our christmas dinner. It just sat there in the middle of my plate staring at me with those 2 black eyes. As I stared back I thought “sheesh this looks like a giant bug”. However I will admit it was tastety with melted butter.

I love all of that plus scallops.

The best meal I ever had was shrimp at a place South of Dothan, Alabama. I think it was called Redmonds fish camp. I ordered shrimp, my wife had fish. The shrimp were huge and there was a dozen of them.

They also had a tartar sauce which was way above average. I could tell there was black pepper in it but I could not figure out the rest.
