And, of the remaining two, Arizona is overrun with illegal aliens. Kentucky (#8) is the only outlier on the list.
>>8. Kentucky<<
Bull crap.
We’ve been hiring flat-out for technicians, maintenance, engineering, purchasing, and logistics for the last 4 years.
We’ve added over 500 full-time employees in the last year.
If you’ve got technical skills and/or education, you’ve got the pick of the litter. However, if you’re a lazy, drug-addicted, food stamp POS who just wants to sit on his/her a$$ and draw a check, yeah, you’ll have a hard time finding work.
No surprise at all given the political leanings of each state except Arizona and that’s most likely due to the heavy illegal immigrant population as someone pointed out
Ky = Coal mining?
This data is not the real picture as far to many have totally dropped out of the labor force. The real number for unemployed is much higher. The economy is not significantly improved. We are living with more and more US debt thanks to Obama plus we have food prices and many other costs that make no sense. US Corporate tax rates are the highest in the world. This government has become a dictatorship and the Federal Gov has usurped all states rights. The main reason this nation formed a fed gov was to keep trade fair between the states.
“Eight of the Ten States Voted for Obama in 2012.”
Isn’t it amazing how that seems to be a trend line among rat states and left wing cities?
“2. California aka Californicator Land
> Underemployment rate: 16.7%
> Unemployment rate: 7.3% (8th highest)
> GDP growth 2012-2013: 2.6% (25th highest)
> Labor force growth 2007-2014: 3.7% (13th highest)
Californias GDP grew at an annualized rate of 2.4% between 2007 and 2014, one of the lower rates in the country. Low GDP growth is likely related to a poor job market. During the peak of the recession, underemployment rose above 22%, second only to Nevada. Unlike other states on this list, Californias underemployment rate and labor force are both rising, which is an indication that the job market is improving moderately. California cities were among the hardest hit by the recession. Statewide housing prices, however, were not hit as hard as other states during the recession, falling only 10%, before fully regaining their 2007 value by 2013.
Mostly liberal states.
How come when millions of people stop looking for jobs it is reported that “things are improving”?

Woo hoo!! And the first 40% is in!! Thank you all very much!! |
That would be my guess as well. We’re getting the same rumbles out of West Virginia and SW Pennsylvania, but our economy here is based on a lot more than coal mining. I’m guessing some of ours are probably going into the booming gas fracking industry.
And, of the remaining two, Arizona is overrun with illegal aliens. Kentucky (#8) is the only outlier on the list.”
As reported on a thread yesterday, Hot Pockets is moving from California to Kentucky, so there will be a few more jobs there, but less for Cali.
Maybe some more companies will move to Kentucky and thus improve employment.

For sure the devastating layoffs in the coal industry have had their impact. Many of the people I had tried to outsource simply didn’t want to “go where the jobs were” and relocate an hour east; opting instead to draw unemployment for two years, then shift to a bogus disability claim.
Draw food stamps, get a “crazy check”, and run meth are more appealing career options than working for a living.
Agreed. SSI is the new unemployment. And it’s for a lifetime with no recertification.
With the auto injury business trending down, ambulance chasers have moved heavily into “disability” law.
A quick look at Jerry Springer or Maury shows’ commercials will show.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
Looks like the blue states have got the "blues". Thanks for voting for Obama. The other two states have legitimate reasons for high unemployment.
I wonder if the onerous government regulations have something to do with the unemployment?
Or is it the lure of government freebies?
Or is it global warming?

Yeah, free houses!
