The Newborn Screening Saves Lives Reauthorization Act is waiting in the US Senate for a vote. Last week, before the House voted on it, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann went to the floor of the House and said parent consent should be required. But it passed without consent requirements. Now, the U.S. Senate is planning to vote on the Houseʼs newborn screening bill and send it to the President. The Senate wants to hotline it, but we want to stop it unless it has written informed parent consent for the government storage, use, analysis, and sharing of newborn DNA. Call your Senators today and tell them to add parent consent.

Why would they want to do this?
We demand the first sample from William Jefferson Webster Clinton-Mezvinsky!
So everyone can go in a “potential criminal” database for later.
Or leak your health records if Citizen X ‘gets out of line’(like Joe the Plumber...or pick your ‘radical infidel’)
Someday there will be DNA readers as compact as blood sugar level readers.
Most diabolically, I would think a person’s identity could also be stolen this way. If your dna sample is mislabeled in error or intentionally, you are no longer you in spite of what other info you might have that says you are you. Now someone else is you, whether you like it or not.
