McDonalds Uruguay was quick to react to the opportunity with a little real-time marketing, inviting Mr. Suarez for a Big Mac hamburger via Twitter.
Hello @luis16suarez, if you are hungry come to have a bite of a big Mac, a loose translation of the message read.

wow, let’s reward the guy why don’t we
I don’t know what happened since I don’t follow the sport or tourney but is this biting satire?
Ugh!
Apparently a Uruguayan player bit an Italian player in the game today. He has bitten opponents before in the Dutch and English leagues. The referee didn’t think it was a penalty and Uruguay scored the winning goal a minute later in the confusion. Biting apparently isn’t against the rules in soccer.
Suarez went out for Italian today..
Was Marv Albert the announcer?
I seem to recall a plane crash in the Andes back in the 1970s and reported Cannibalism. Wasn’t that Uruguayan, too?
They were rugby players. Not sure what country they were from.
This is not funny. Eight years ago, kids started Zidane-ing each other, ie.e., head butting. Now if Uruguay wins, they will be Suarez-ing each other.
A homeless man told me he hasn’t had a bite all day, so I bit him.
US Soccer should hire Vince McMahon. Biting? Vince has done it, maybe even himself. We can slam other players ...just make sure the referee has turned his back...ala Suarez. Not only can Vince win this Coupo thing, he could make $$$$$ doing it.
Let’s start the ball rolling...McMahon in Qatar! McMahon in Qatar!
If you slam another player maybe IHOP will invite you in for a Grand Slam Breakfast?
I don’t think it’s funny at all. If I was Uruguayan or on the Uruguay team I’d be furious. They should kick him off the team before FIFA responds.
Horrible but in our American Football, I’m sure bites, spitting, kicks, some of these happen from time to time.
Alas, I said last night, it’s just PR to call it the beautiful game, it can have some beauty in it but it is well counterbalanced by other things.

That Suarez should be given a lifetime ban or go through counseling.
Though, as some other soccer players have been, feral, wild, that is why he may be so good but doing things like this is obviously unacceptable.
That result is tainted. I can’t really consider Italy to have lost and I’m certainly not a fan of their team.
Spitting and kicking yes. I don’t remember biting. Biting should not be tolerated.
