As part of a prisoner swap to free Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the United States agreed to transfer five Guantánamo detainees to Qatar.
NPR's Tom Bowman received a list of the prisoners being released from a Pentagon official. According to documents leaked to the organization WikiLeaks, all five prisoners were high-ranking Taliban officials. Some were considered high-risk and "likely to post a threat to the U.S., its interests and allies."
U.S. officials said working with the government of Qatar, they had ameliorated some of those risks, because the detainees will face restrictions on their movements and activities.
Using those leaked documents as a basis, NPR and The New York Times built a database on the prisoners in Guantánamo. Here's a brief look at who they are:

It’s the Taliban Dream Team released to kill again for a deserter
So, if it wasn’t for Wikileaks, we wouldn’t know who these guys are?
Didn’t you read the article?
“U.S. officials said working with the government of Qatar, they had ameliorated some of those risks, because the detainees will face restrictions on their movements and activities.”
So there’s nothing to worry about. The government said so.
The bigger question is why they were never brought to trial.
Aren’t a couple of them wanted by the UN for thousands of deaths?
If we had a government that cared about American security, we’d release them, hellfire them, then hang Bergdhal for desertion.
In this case, Obama conveniently ignored the UN’s request for their extradition.
Releasing these five for what ever reason is in fact:
"Aiding and Abetting the enemy" in a time of war. Some dare call that Treason !
If we had a real government, there would be trials for all of them. Tossing people in prison and leaving them there is a trait we used to assign to despots.
Imagine that early in WWII we had captured Adm. Yamamoto, Himmler, Mengele, Goebbels and Hess.
Now picture FDR releasing them in exchange for some captured servicemen before the war was over.
If Bergdahl were the biggest hero in American military history
0bama still committed high treason by letting the five highest level terrorists in custody go.
If we had a real government these guys would never have made it to Gitmo; they would have had a summary battlefield execution as illegal combatants.
