Video at link. The other important question, why did it take 15 months for the video to surface?

Hey - the ossifer was just CONFRONTIN'.
It's what they do.
Just another installment of "Cops and Peasants" (which is a lot like the old child's game of "Cops and Robbers", except only the cops have guns...).

My question is how they found the video at all. If it was gone for 15 months, it’s a miracle that it still exists.
Somebody within the system must be making backups.

At least justice finally prevailed. Now where are the indictments against the lying cops for perjury ? Let's see their rear ends in jail !!

The other important question, why did it take 15 months for the video to surface? Because you MUST fear the State at all times. They are our rulers and we are supposed to bow down to them when they even deign to look at us.

Why are they struggling to make race an issue here? Even if the cop had purely racist motives, he was wrong, got caught, and will now have to pay the consequences.

Makes me want to puke.
Take the bastard out behind the station and smoke him.

At a guess, no action was taken by detectives until the case was scheduled for trial. That’s about how long it takes to bring a case to trial around here.

...why did it take 15 months for the video to surface?
This kind of debunks the 'few bad apples' lie. Other cops in that department had to know an innocent man was sitting in jail because of another cop's lie, and did nothing about it. Those that stand by and protect and defend the 'bad apples', are far worse IMHO.

Exactly! Mr. Jones deserves justice and this cop and anyone else involved in suppressing any evidence must be severely dealt with, no matter who was what color.

“He should face 3 times what he lied about on another man.”
As a minimum, anyone who intentionally bears false witness should suffer the same (potential) penalty as the one falsely accused. That would be truly just.

Because you MUST fear the State at all times. They are our rulers and we are supposed to bow down to them when they even deign to look at us. Isn't it odd that the Founding Fathers got along quite well without all these "swarms of officers harassing" them?

I went to the link. It sounds like the officer was allowed to resign. It seems he should have been charged with assault. I am glad the victim is getting money from the city for this, but seems like the money should be coming from the LEOs involved, instead.

“After seeing the video evidence, prosecutors dropped all charges against Jones. The police department eventually launched an investigation that resulted in Antkowiak resigning.”
Right there. Ridiculously slow followup but the DA’s office in screening. None by the PD until -finally- some assistant district attorney caught it. FYI in a major city ADA’s can easily put in 80 - 90 hour work weeks if they strive to carry out all their obligations. The flow of cases and data is like trying to drink from a fire hydrant.

Most jurisdictions will have something dealing with false reporting and so on. Unfortunately, they are seldom enforced against people within the law racket.

The real travesty? The policeman apparently got off by simply resigning. He deserves to be tried and punished for battery. That cop is the real risk to peaceful citizens, and he’s apparently walking the streets a free man.
