Why are they struggling to make race an issue here? Even if the cop had purely racist motives, he was wrong, got caught, and will now have to pay the consequences.

Exactly! Mr. Jones deserves justice and this cop and anyone else involved in suppressing any evidence must be severely dealt with, no matter who was what color.

I believe Dallas once had a prosecutor who was famous for race based prosecutions.

The race of the individuals was unnecessary. In a case of injustice like this, the victim deserves every bit of the compensation he got. The JBTs need to go to jail.

Period.

Race is and should be irrelevant. Behavior IS relevant.

Abuse of power is not restricted for racial issues. It’s just used as a broad excuse.
And therefore diverts the objective.

I'll be surprised if there are any consequences to him to speak of. If this nation still had a "justice" system, he'd spend at least the same amount of time in jail as the man he railroaded. I'll be surprised if he even gets fired.

If he is, he'll be on another force, framing new people in weeks.

Every single conviction he assisted in should be scrutinized closely by the courts, with all benefit of the doubt being given to the accused.

“Why are they struggling to make race an issue here?”

Well, when was the last time you heard about a group of cops turning off their dash cams so they could plant a crack pipe on a white guy?

I mean, that’s straight out of a Dave Chappelle comedy sketch.
