My wife tells me everything that I need to know about myself. She is never wrong.
Any topic, they have an opinion, even if it's an asinine one...
I’m very proud of my humility.
” those people who performed the worst were also the worst in estimating their own aptitude. In all three studies, those whose performance put them in the lowest quarter massively overestimated their own abilities by rating themselves as above average.”
Sadly I know of a few examples of this...
The more you know, the more you realize how much you don’t know.
Unfortunately the public schools are teaching child that they are brilliant while filling their brains with mush.
Cr*p! This is just how I’ve been feeling lately, so unfortunate to see it confirmed.
I’m going back and look at the bad Xmas photos again.
Well, I always wondered what my problem was.
How’s this help someone like Humblegunner?
I’ve noticed people who think they’re gorgeous usually aren’t, either.
Similar finding was found in horseless carriage drivers.
Keep in mind that this was written by psychologists who think they are really really smart.
That’s raciss.
This explains resentment based ideologies like liberalism. If they overestimate their own abilities or contributions, then if they don’t achieve what they wanted, it was unfair and people need to make up the difference.
This must apply to car drivers, also. I’ve never anyone who was not, in their own opinion, a ‘good’ and ‘cautious’ winter driver. Yet the number of accidents this past week during the blizzard conditions here, was incredible.
Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him. --Proverbs 26:12
“Participants who were least able to judge what was funny (at least according to the professional comics) were also least able to accurately assess their own ability.”
I wonder if they would find a difference if they compared people from large families to a sample of people who were the only child. I learned as a kid that I have a weird sense of humor. My brothers and sisters would just stare at me while I laughed at my own jokes. Sarcasm makes me laugh (die hard films are a favorite), don’t laugh at the 3 stooges, too empathetic, and hate Seinfeld.
This explains liberals hook, line and sinker. 99.999% of them I’ve ever talked to (and believe me I try my best to avoid it) are self-lionizing dumb-bags. I have a new idea when dealing with liberals. If they ask you for the time of day, tell them that it is always night. They wouldn’t recognize the sun, anyway, even if it was giving them sunburns.
But does it work in reverse? The smarter your are the more inept you believe yourself to be?
I’m to stupid to realize how dumb I am.
