The only reason for the coverage is because he is black.

He was a terrorist on the list. He killed children in schools and bombed police stations . He was convicted of 14 murders. He is not to be celebrated. His country went down the tubes. Everyone of value left it. I will not watch this pagan crap.

even Ted Cruz posted glowing praise on Facebook... guess he is just not picking that battle

Mandela is universally adored. Why create ANY controversy to hurt our side? Let Obama take his wife, mother-in-law, boss (Jarrett) and 1,500 "friends" to Africa, spend his $50 million and help bury the dude, and then slam the crap out of him when he gets back.

Other than killing people for entertainment, what did Nellie have to do with sports?

Universally adored like Obama?

FTR, Cruz is getting a lot of flak for praising Mandela on FB.

Listening to classic rock channels on XM radio. Talking about Mandela. I pay for this service. I want to hear music not some moron rambling on about world politics. Gonna dump XM and go with Pandora.

That’s why I’ve pretty much stopped watching sports - like just about all other institutions, it too has been co-opted by the left.

In Mandela’s own words, what a loser:

“In our own country, the struggles of the oppressed people are guided by the South African Communist Party and inspired by its policies. The aim of the S.A.C.P. is to defeat the Nationalist government and to free the people of South Africa from the evils of racial discrimination and exploitation and to build a classless or socialist society. . . .
Under a Communist Party Government South Africa will become a land of milk and honey. Political, economic and social rights will cease to be enjoyed by Whites only. They will be shared equally by Whites and Non-Whites. There will be enough land andvhouses for all. There will be no unemployment, starvation and disease.”

We were at a Sports Bar also tonight and we all said the same thing “ What’s up with the coverage of Mandela on ESPN.” ESPN interviewed a lot of black sports figures saying how much they respect Mandela.

The only reason for the coverage is because he is black.

More than that. Apartheid South Africa was the Left's cause celebre in the 80s. And Mandela's release, and subsequent rise to power, was their biggest victory since the Civil Rights era.

Funny, he wasn’t mentioned at all during the Rangers/Sabres hockey broadcast! :)
