New video from JZ. Long, but eye-opening. Sadly, John is the only one out there who cares about the truth.
Perhaps Paterno wrongly assumed it was looked into which it was supposed to have been by Curley and the other guy. I said he could have done more to chase it, and yeah he was probably taking an ‘officially it’s their responsibility’ stance, but my point was that Spanier and co, McQueary, and even Sandusky to a degree got off light in the media compared to Paterno simply because of who Paterno was.
In Florida, George Zimmerman it seems, is a hothead jackass and not some upstanding citizen, but I still object to the lynching that went on in the media without any attention to the fact that Trayvon was a thug who probably started the confrontation.
I guess what I am protesting is how the media drives police investigations and court proceedings so much nowadays. They can turn you into a martyr or a monster at the drop of a hat, while leaving out facts that they think are unimportant or that don’t suit the agenda.
I’m Henry the 8th, I am.
No, that isn’t what you are saying. JS was the defensive coordinator for the Alamo Bowl. Ask Lavar Arrington if you don’t believe me. He hoisted him on his shoulders following the shutout. It wasn’t some VIP trip. It was a usual bowl game.
His retirement package was set up by the office of the President (Spanier) and signed off on by then Provost (and now President) Erickson. It was just another retirement package that other faculty members got. Nothing different other than some objected to the “emeritus” status for a graduate of basically phys ed.
Paterno actually objected to parts of the retirement package because he was sick of seeing second mile kids all over the place - especially at practices, which were notoriously closed to outsiders. There are hand written notes in the footnotes of the fact freeh report from Joe that show this.
Keep telling yourself that. Facts be damned. There are facts littered all over this post - including in the two Ziegler videos and the links I’ve provided. You haven’t glanced at one of them. You don’t want to know what really happened because you are plenty happy with the way things are.
Tim Curley is facing jail time (due to a poisoned jury pool) for something he didn’t do. He has a family. You don’t care about him either.
You think you are on the high ground, when really you’re crawling around with the media and louis freeh.
Agreed.
But ya know, there was no Penn State grassroots fury against these three...other than generalized "upsetness" that their beloved school got pinpointed/upended in a scandal. Had there been a hue & cry @ the grassroots level, then
(a) Curley the AD would have been fired vs. being allowed to be placed on "paid leave" (rewarded for being such a scandal-head); and
(b) Spanier the tenured prof would have been fired vs. being a paid Penn State employee thru November of last year.
Perhaps Paterno wrongly assumed it was looked into which it was supposed to have been by Curley and the other guy. I said he could have done more to chase it, and yeah he was probably taking an officially its their responsibility stance...
Well, please note my "review" post (#37) to another poster. Even if JoePa "assumed" it was to be investigated, at some point in time he realized it wasn't happening. At that point, JoePa made a decision: Do I do right by this boy and be his advocate; or do I mind my own football biz and this kid be damned?...and maybe by the time this scandal will break, I'll be dead or retired.
History has recorded JoePa's decision-making on that one!
Sandusky didn’t molest anyone and Obamacare is good for everyone. /sarcasm
So sad how supposedly fair-minded FReepers have believed everything that ESPN pounded into their heads. Scarily similar to the way low-information voters believed what the media pound into their heads regarding Obama. I guess that for some people, if they hear something over and over, that they just believe it one hundred percent, without even doing any research into the subject.
Please people, if you haven’t done your homework on this case, you might want to refrain from spouting off to make yourself feel good. Or else make this pledge: If and when the truth comes out: if it turns our that you were wrong, that your apology will be as strong and public as your comments.
JZ still thinks hes a pedophile that belongs behind bars. He just doesnt think hes guilty of any of the actual sex acts. Calls him a chaste pedophile -

I know I’m late to the party, but is this what you believe as well?
No truer words were spoken...that's kind of the irony here...
When you DON'T do something you're supposed to do...indeed, it CAN become a crime of omission.
If a teacher is told by a student that she/he is being abused; and if the teacher also falls into this "didn't do" category by failing to properly inform the authorities, then yes, they, too can be charged for a crime.
[To gusty] You think you are on the high ground, when really youre crawling around...
(Meanwhile, this poster -- FlJoePa -- slinks around as an advocate of one who the inmates treat as the lowest of the low -- those who sexually abuse children)
If there was a National Championship of delusional and warped hero worship, no other school would have a chance.
You should build an even bigger statue of Dear Leader Paterno out of gold. I'm sure the Happy Valley Faithful will donate their gold fillings to forge it. And add one of psuedo celibate pedo Sandusky holding his hand.

Never used email, huh? Your defense of the pedophile enabler is based on a lie.
If someone was murdered in the JoPa the Enabler's office(even directly in front of him), he would have called/emailed his superior - the superior would say the 'humane' thing to do was not turn in the killer. JoPa the Enabler would say 'fine' and go back to his office and plan for the next game. After all, he would just be 'following procedures.'
Paterno ran Penn State.
His players lived in a different system of regulation than either the regular students OR the other athletes in the school. His coaches, the same.
In the end, what I believe killed Paterno was guilt. Paterno was Alec Guinness’ character in ‘Bridge Over the River Kwai’.
Guinness was totally devoted to what he built, and he realized too late that no matter how noble and beautiful the bridge was, it was an instrument of evil.
Had Paterno risked what he’d built, it would have likely survived it. As it is, Penn State will always been known as ‘Pedophile State’, and the inaction of the NCAA in this will be one of the things that contributes to the demise of football in the USA.
This incident, the O’Bannon case, concussions, and other things will spell the end of the Golden Goose within the next decade.
Just before his firing, Paterno called the Sandusky scandal 'one of the great sorrows of my life.' 'With the benefit of hindsight, I wish I had done more,' Paterno said.
Like call the cops???? NO NO NO, that would be against 'school procedures.'
What he meant was provide more soap.

That’s funny. ONE e-mail (the same e-mail discussed in 3 different stories you linked) that was obviously dictated by Joe to an assistant coach.
Joe didn’t use e-mail. Period.
Sin is everywhere: Inside each of us; on every campus, etc.
The REAL battle then that we fight in our own lives and in our culture and campus sub-cultures is the natural reflex to cover up that sin. And worse, not only cover it up, but openly sanction it...
The apostle Paul mentions this re: homosexuality & other types of sins in Romans 1...and then concludes that chapter:
32 Although they know Gods righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
And what do we find consistently then on these major Big 10 campuses in the middle of their states? Penn State on the eastern edge; Indiana University on the Western Edge; and sandwiched in between these campuses you gotta drive thru Columbus, OH (Ohio State)?
So...we see here an extended sanctioning of pedophilia by the Penn Staters.
