They can rig up something. Tyreese looks like Mr. T, and if Mr T could rig up a deathmobile for the A-Team, Tyreese can do it for the Apocolypse-team.
I’ve never understood the fixation with heading south on these shows aside from eliminating the need to provide fuel for warmth.
I personally would head for Beaver Island on lake Michigan. The current living population is under 700 people and if you can gather 50 people you could clear that zombified population pretty quickly. I’m assuming the MI winter would cause the zombies to freeze up for easy elimination and there would be plenty of game on the mainland.
I am thinking a steam roller circling the prison would be the ideal defense/ offense. Squish!
