One might conclude the cat can’t see much. This isn’t true. The night scene is somewhat suggestive of the feline advantage. The cityscape doesn’t make sense. There are fliedermausen, but not fliederkatzen. Nor do cats normally wander around in market places. Movies that would show a tiny moving object glowing as though lit by neon might convey the idea of a cat’s visual advantage better than these still shots do.

They left out something very important here. The vertical-slit shape of the cat’s pupil. This makes cats much more sensitive to horizontal motion. Try moving your hand up and down in front of a cat and they can’t see it, but side to side and they are dead on.

What does the cat see?
IDK, but I also wonder...
What does the fox say?

I think it’s misleading to represent what a cat sees without reference to how the cat’s brain interprets what its eyes see.
The eye’s perceptions may seem awful to us but I would expect a cat brain does very well with the information. If not, the species wouldn’t be here, perceiving reality so poorly.

After recent security declassification, it can now be revealed that during WWII, American night fighter aircraft did not have radar, but were instead piloted by cats! Tiger Anderson is credited with bringing down twenty nazi planes while Sylvester Martinez has been credited with eighteen kills. These proud pussycats were truly some fabulous flying felines!

When I have to take one cat and get him shaved, my other cat doesn’t know who he is for a couple of weeks. The vet said it’s because they recognize each other by smell.

The photos below hypothesize
I can't believe that for one second. While I do believe that cats have tunnel vision, based on my observation of my cat and how she looks at objects below and in front of her, their vision is far more accute than those blurred images in the article.......
