Within hours of President Obama's re-election, companies both large and small across the country began announcing major layoffs, along with store and plant closings.
Unfortunately, massive layoffs have become a weekly occurrence as companies begin to cope with the harsh realities of a second Obama term.
Despite the false, cheery rhetoric coming from both the Obama administration and their surrogates in the mainstream press, the labor pool is smaller today than it was 30 years ago and continues to shrink.

I heard that there were massive layoffs at GE Lighting last week. Has that been in the news?
Thanks - please post every week !
Of course, we’ve been subjected to the propaganda of the “Ministry of Truth” since January 2009 and before. The wise don’t believe it for a minute.
My backup plan (or perhaps fantasy) if I were to have my future freed up is to give starting a business a try, but with the economy in the tank like this, it certainly gives one pause for concern.
I was expecting bigger numbers. No wonder they didn’t catch the attention of the media. I think a lot of those layoffs are from advances in technology. Mission Hospital probably cannot afford to continue to pay for indigent and illegal aliens anymore.
We are going to try, got our website and our business name registered with the state, now we have to find a food manufacturing partner. We are going to try to go commercial with our salsa recipe, everybody says its the best, we aren't afraid to at least try. Umpqua Salsa!
I wasn’t laid off but I was furloughed this week. It’s tough to miss a week’s pay.
Hope for Change.
Wouldn’t want to spoil 0bama’s labor day weekend.
This doesn’t include companies like Boeing that have small layoffs frequently so they don’t have to tell the Dept of Labor about it. They just had another layoff this week.
This bastard has been in office for 5 years and hasn’t done squat about unemployment. I know, cause I’m living this hell...
Thanks massmike.
