What a bunch of meatheads!
New York pizza-lovers got a black eye from users of the travel megasite TripAdvisor, who rated the citys slices a paltry fourth in the country behind outposts like San Diego and Las Vegas.
Perhaps most offensive was the third-place choice of Boston, where reviewers gushed about pies with oddball toppings like shrimp scampi.
Get out of here, thats crazy! Boston is No. 3? said Jackson Heights resident Andrew Silverstein, 31, while enjoying lunch at famed Patsy Grimaldis new Brooklyn joint, Julianas. Ive had pizza in Boston, and it was a horrible experience.
Users of the normally reliable travel Web site suspiciously run out of the Boston suburb of Newton wrote glowingly of the pizzas that are churned out in the Mexican border town of San Diego.
The pizza was just as good as being home in New York, one person said.

Yes, Regina’s is still there. They have branches in many of the malls but they can’t compare to the original in the North End.
I agree. The steel areas of west PA and east OH are swimming with good Pizza.
I wondered about Santarpios. I used to go by there frequently but never got around to visiting. Every other Boston pizza place I visited was unimpressive.
The one in Lauderdale is known for one of the best pies in the city. The sandwiches - not so much.
Where’s the love for Old Forge, PA? Talk about a pizza place on every corner...
Mineos is one of my favorites
Though they are now back, at one point both Dominos and Little Caesars had all but pulled out of Pittsburgh. Very hard to compete with the established old-school competitors.
They can not compete where I grew up.
It is all mom and pop shops.
Heck, Even St Anthony’s Church churns out better pies!
My Family still makes pizzas with the neighbors weekly.
Little vino for sipping, some garlic and hot pepper infused olive oil for dunking the crust..
I bet Trip Advosor has the best Chinese restaurant listed in south Texas.
*Los Angeles* has Mexican. So does Texas. So does Arizona. New Mexico has Mexican/Indian. Everywhere else, you might as well be eating Taco Bell. I saw a Mexican place in NYC regarded as 'NYC's best authentic Mexican' and it was like some kind of upscale Chevy's that served colorful margaritas.
The flour tortilla is heresy. Corn tortillas should be no larger in diameter than a baseball and made within a very short time of being served.
Sorry to hijack the thread. Someone mentioned Mexican.
Heh...little Pecos, TX - which is virtually a dying ghost town - has one of the best Chinese restaurants we’ve ever eaten at. Genuine Chinamen run it, too!
Consider the source LOL
There are entire communities in Houston where the street signs are in Mandarin.
Not true.
While the Corn tortilla is at the core of Mexican food, the Flour tortilla is what I prefer for seafood or chicken.
Corn would over power shrimp, but it is the way to go with beef.
Having eaten it in both the USA and Mexico, the Mexican food is much better in the USA. Ditto Chinese food and China.
As for flour tortillas, they have their place. Burritos and quesadillas are delicious, even if they aren’t truly Mexican.
New York pizza is crap, along with East Coast pizza in general.
“Chicago deep dish is good food but it is not true pizza.”
Maybe, but even Chicago “tavern-style” thin crust is generally much better than New York style pizza.
New York pizza: a free bedbug topping with every pie...
Yeah, but notice, neither did Chicago make the top 10, nor did anybody compliment another town’s pizza by saying it’s “as good as Chicago’s”.
