The Sun's Magnetic Field is about to Flip

August 5, 2013: Something big is about to happen on the sun. According to measurements from NASA-supported observatories, the sun's vast magnetic field is about to flip.

"It looks like we're no more than 3 to 4 months away from a complete field reversal," says solar physicist Todd Hoeksema of Stanford University. "This change will have ripple effects throughout the solar system."

Oh, man. Everyone trying to navigate on the sun is going to have to turn his compass around. Like it isn’t hard enough already - it’s so hot that you can only go there at night. Sheesh.

The sun’s magnetic poles flip every 11 years. It is responsible for the sun spot cycle. At “solar maximum” there are more sun spots because magnetic field lines become increasingly chaotic as the flip approaches. Sun spots occur where field lines intersect and reconnect.

I would have to believe that if Sonny were still alive he would intentionally run into a tree after seeing what Cher and her friends did to his daughter.

Not to worry....Obama is on this like a laser.....

Welcome King Barack "Canute" Obama the Great.....

...Obama issues an Executive Order to the Sun...

....to increase it's magnetic field....

and make a good crop of sunspots before elections in 2016....

(PhysOrg.com) -- Sunspot formation is triggered by a magnetic field, which scientists say is steadily declining. They predict that by 2016 there may be no remaining sunspots, and the sun may stay spotless for several decades.

The last time the sunspots disappeared altogether was in the 17th and 18th century, and coincided with a lengthy cool period on the planet known as the Little Ice Age....and lasted 400 years.

Good luck surviving with no electricity and GE modified seeds.

Facebookers will definitely have a hard time of it, which will be a very good thing. Somehow humans made it a very long time before we were able to harness electricity.

I agree. We know his mind wasn’t on ‘the present’ when he hit the tree but was somewhere else. Probably the reason on the skis to begin with - to free his mind - but it didn’t work.

I would have to believe that if Sonny were still alive he would intentionally run into a tree after seeing what Cher and her friends did to his daughter.

Ironically Sonny was very understanding and accepting, it was Cher that wouldn't accept this crap.
