Strange Things in the Sky

Human beings have always seen unidentified objects in the sky. From the prophet Ezekiel’s sighting of a flying wheel in 593 B.C., to the 1561 A.D. Battle over Nuremberg, Germany, to Kenneth Arnold’s “pie plate” UFOs spotted near Mt. Rainer, Washington, in June 1947, there are things above our heads that baffle us.

Many of these unidentified flying objects appear to be intelligently controlled aircraft. Others, like the following sightings in California and Illinois, defy explanation.

A gyroscope is nicely described as a ‘wheel within a wheel’ don'tchathink?

Perhaps a better theory - I never thought about the stagecoach/helicopter "wheel within a wheel" before reading THIS

<...”Often the imagination of men defies reason, imagination is infectious, men see what they want to see, to wit: the Zimmerman case.”....>

Agree...we see the world via our brains...our eyes relay the messages...but our imagination can distort images, add to them, and even deny them.

There’s also the “mob” mentality....if I see it they will see it.

UFO’S are “Unidentified”...that does not mean they can’t be...but many things seen in the sky are known to some and not others.

I believe in UFO”S..objects that the layman cannot identify....I do not believe in friendly visitors.

...if they are real...which I highly doubt...they are not to be trusted or engaged...they are an illusion from the other side if anything at all....and a deception .

Even at our level of technology, albeit primitive if compared to a civilization which might be jumping from star system to star system, we can already generate imagery in the brain using electromagnetic energy. These images are not real as in they have a spatio-temporal reality which can be sensed by our 4D devices, but to the mind in which they arise they are real indeed.

To generate imagery in the mind, of things which are not real in our spatio-temporal reference frame is a form of deception, IF we choose to think of it that way. That raises an interesting notion: when Jesus appeared to Saul on the road to Damascus, was Saul being deceived with an image that was not physically real, or was Saul given a special ability to see what his companions could not see as clearly ... the compn\anions apparently sense something but could not identify a coherent message in what they sensed.

That brings to mind what Moses experienced on the mountain, when God covered eyes as Moses stood in the cleft of the rocks as God passed by him. I believe that to be one of the 'Christophanies', but that's just simple me ... and a few dozen Biblical Scholars.

#3 - they/we fled Earth (due to some catastrophe?) and have been living elsewhere in the solar system? Perhaps in hollowed out planetoids? Visiting the recovering planet and Waiting for the right time/conditions to return to stay?

Perhapse they are the Nephilium ie. Giants as described in the Bible, not giants in actual size, but Giants in the same way that Power in terms of Technology is described “Technological Giants” per se....

Could be they left due to the ice ages or end of the ice ages.....?

Dunno, but #3 seems to be the most plausible of the group. No t saying I believe it. Just that IF the explanation was one of the four then it is the strongest candidate.

One comment though about interstellar travel: if we are talking about going faster than light or “bending space/time” then it is impossible to conceive of how it could be accomplished.

Slower interstellar travel is however almost with our grasp even now. At a speed of 1/10th the speed of light (admittedly very VERY fast)a trip to a star 63 light years away could be made in about 630 years.

All you need is a self contained planetisimal in which generation after generation of spacefarers will be born and die until the craft reaches any promising stars, where it parks in orbit (maybe like that of 3753 Cruithne ) and sends out smaller craft for exploration.

The obvious is usually ignored..

People that see UFO’s are probably lying.. masking wishful thinking..

Interstellar flight is pretty hard, but yeah, who know how many asteroids there could be in our solar system that are from other solar systems BY DESIGN!!!

It could be the drive to colonize a new world dies off as soon as a race gets accustomed to living in a sub light hollowed out asteroid....???

So instead of colonizing they would just want to visit and explore and go back to the their hollowed out home atseroid and they would possibly spread to other asteroids.

If they can manipulate gravity they can manipulate spacetime and if they can do that then FTL insterstellar flight is a likely possibility.

It’s all quite fascinating...

It narrows down to if one “Believes IN” what they are seeing...which therein is the danger.

I certainly don't question Paul's nor any of that which they saw and experienced before Christ came and while here..and for that matter, what the Apostles saw and did. But that was another time then what we live ..for we have the Scriptures and His Spirit within us to guide and lead. God did some amazing things at that time though, and I take them as written.

I do think that many today seek these encounters because they ‘want to believe’ in UFO'S and a spiritual realm they desire access to and seek... So they're ‘already’ in a state of mind to be deceived....and the enemy of men's souls is happy to accommodate, as in the long run it will lead people away from the true reality which is in Christ and “experiencing” Him as he would have them do.

Makes sense. They have a home, and one to which their physiology has necessarily adapted. Their eyes could be used to the permanent twilight of deep space, their muscles and bones are used to low gravity.

Every planet is a "gravity well" requiring massive amounts of energy to escape. Could be their resources are too limited to want to spend them on large scale travel down and up from the gravity wells they wish to explore/exploit.
