Tim Lincecum of the World Champion San Francisco Giants has thrown a no hitter against the San Diego Padres, throwing 13 strikeouts over 148 pitches.
Dad started taking us to games in the early 60's, 1963 to be exact because the first live game we saw was against the Cards and it was the last game Stan the Man played at Connie Mack.
THAT was baseball. How times have changed.
Here’s an article about that game, which some call “the greatest game ever pitched.”

Awesome, here’s one with the box, scroll down.

I remember that Giants team well, had all their baseball cards, Braves too.
Great article ... thanks!
Funny, the very first autograph we ever got was Ruben Amaro's, yep, RAJ's very own Pop. I should call in next time he's doing radio call-ins on Phillies Pregame and ask him what he will give me for it.Of course bro and I knocked the cover off that ball at the playground years ago. LOL
Spahn walked only one batter in 15 and 1/3 innings—and got the loss.
2 K’s and smacked a double too.
Congratulations, Tim! 148 pitches... Wow!
Awesome. Hopefully the three game sweep of the pads and the NO-NO the Gints can back to some winning baseball. Congrats Tim!!!

True, baseball is a tad "subtle" for some folks.
It was an NBC broadcast it should be available on demand... if your service has that capability.
Love that box score. Time of game was 1:43.
I was on the way to Viet Nam.
It was against the last place Padres so it shouldnt count. /sActually I think the Giants were in last place beginning the series.
Damn fine game!!!! Had to watch replays of parts of it this a.m. Glad to see Timmy come alive, as well as the Giants!
Congrats to Tim. Superb job.
Gotta also give a hand to Buster Posey for catching his second no hitter in two years.
The Freak is back! But one-hundred-forty-eight pitches? That’ll burn your arm up!
148 pitches!! Congrats to a great pitcher.
