9 Years ago today, I had the great honor of being a key member of the World War II Memorial dedication weekend on the National Mall. Starting at 8AM, Big Band orchestra played the music of the greatest generation, 3PM saw President GW Bush on stage.
I got there that week. It is one of my favorite photos of myself with that curved row of flags in the background.
The bronze art at the entrance is NOT TO BE MISSED!
Two of those bronze castings are in the picture!
You can watch and almost want to touch them as you wait for the troops to actually “break” out of the metal.
