It was in the middle of a Democrat President's second term. Emboldened by re-election, he began to deceive the American people on a wide range of issues. He felt there was nothing that could touch him. In fact he blatantly lied to the American people time and time again feeling as if he could get away with anything.
But then it all went wrong. A citizen journalist who had taken jobs at 7-11, Mcdonalds and grocery stores got tired of the lies, and decided he had enough. He waited for the next lie to happen. And when it did, Matthew Nathan "Matt" Drudge took advantage and launched his career on the back of a Bill Clinton lie. In 1998, Drudge gained popularity when he was the first outlet to break the news that later became the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
Bill Clinton was impeached by the House of Representatives on two charges, one of perjury and one of obstruction of justice, on December 19, 1998. He was acquitted by the Senate on February 12, 1999. Requiring a two-thirds majority for a conviction, only 50 senators (out of 100) voted guilty on the obstruction charge and 45 on the perjury charge. The Senate was 17 votes short of removing Clinton from office.
Today we have a similar situation. A President in the middle of his second term, feeling emboldened by a reelection victory who has possibly bitten off more than he can chew. And now we have another Patriot, Glenn Edward Lee Beck, attempting to launch his own network. This time it could be on the back of a lie or lies by one Barack Obama.
We will find out Monday.

Crazy to think we were that close to removing Clinton from office.
Gore would have moved into the presidency. And Bush would have had a much harder time getting elected. Maybe.

Actually, I think Drudge is to Obama what Drudge was to Clinton.....(but Beck is helpful)...Obama’s team was whining about Drudge just last week!

I sure hope to G-d that Beck has the giantkiller he says he has...because if he made this threat and does not, (or cannot,) follow through, he is finished.
Plus what made me think of this was the Van Jones situation as well.
I have to agree with you MestaMachine. He made this sound like a HUGH and SERIES scoop.
He’s gotta deliver the goods and I think he will. How much it’s covered and the MSM trying to bury it will be another issue.
He's done a lot of great work. I'm sure the White House monitored his Fox broadcasts. He was occupying their heads, rent free.

I believe he’s already on certain networks.

In fact imagine if he starts taking the audience away from Fox. LOL!
